CEOs Earn 354 Times More Than Average Worker

"Chief executives of the nation's largest companies earned an average of $12.3 million in total pay last year -- 354 times more than a typical American worker, according to the AFL-CIO.

The average worker made $34,645 last year, according to the group that represents over 50 trade unions."

"The discrepancy in pay between CEOs and the average worker has skyrocketed over the years, peaking in 2000, when the gap was 525 times. In 1980, CEO pay was 42 times that of the average worker."

"The union wants regulators to enforce an outstanding rule from Wall Street reforms for publicly traded companies to reveal CEO pay compared to their average employees. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has delayed efforts to craft that rule, in part because of heavy lobbying by companies"

HOW IS IT WORKING FOR YOU!!!!!

So certain CEO's are corrupt. The logical conclusion is unions aren't. OK, yea, I get it.

Isn't it funny how the grossly overcompensated exects that are busy sucking companies they didn't build dry, are brilliant enough to have the whole country blaming those "lazy deadbeat union workers".

The CEO's should be thankful to have unions to blame. Without a scapegoat, people would start asking real questions and the gold bricking execs would get lynched.

I think the unions should go back to protecting the little guy, with job safety, training, and enforcement of the negotiated contracts instead of mearly being the protection racket money collector for the very socialist candidates that hurt the worker in the long run every time.

Funny you bring up the CEO's. The worst part about a union is the union bosses stealing money from their own members. Should we compare the salary of CEO's to the union bosses? Union bosses make their money by taking money from their members. With perks lets see how much more the union bosses make than the union members. 300% is nothing if you include the pilfering from the retirement and healthcare funds...

    Working great.
Your message is clear. Thank you.
Get an education, take some risk, and strive to LEAD.
    or....
keep your head down,do only the bare minimum required, stay in the herd, and pay somebody else to represent you..make him wealthy off YOUR work.
    Got it. Thanks again.

Why don't you compare the CEO to the bunch of overpaid jocks who do nothing but play a game. Tell me how you justify that.

If you knew anything about an exec's life you wouldn't make those statements.
How many execs have you known??

Reach around behind you and do you feel a hand? That belongs to the union head moving your lips.

If you haven't figured it out it takes both - workers and exec.

I want to know how Obama only paid 18% in taxes?

Isn't everybody suppose to pay more? Lead by example.

This message has been brought to you by a proud CEO whose employee's are not only workers but friends.

The main problem is that the great unwashed masses have reached an unheard of level of stupidity. It's no wonder the wolves among the sheep drain the life out of them.

Not comprehending simple economics a la Poor Richard, much less not knowing where the meat you buy at the market (with your EBT card) comes from tells that the country as a whole hase less brains than a herd of lemmings.

The people they elect to represent them shows it, too.

Hey Midalake, If it's so easy and you are so envious go start your own company. You too can be a CEO. Go see how easy it is. That's the way it used to be in the USA. Typical union member sit back and B*&$%, go make it happen and then tell me how easy it is! Make sure your employees get paid, and you go w/o a check. Oh you forgot to mention that part!

Midalake - start your own business. Compete. Survive. Be extorted by union organizers, or have your life and your family's life threatened if you don't cave in.

Come back and tell us about your experience.
