1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Have wanted one of these for a long time but out of my range right now. That's not a plastic butt plate is it?

Up for a good guy. I love mine. 45-90 is a great caliber, a good load for hunting or long range target. Those 560 gr paper patch bullets sound like cannon fire. AJ

    Can you shoot 45-70 out of a 45-90? Is it like a 38 in a 357 mag?

Yes 45-70 works out of 45-90, but may not be quite as accurate. Brass is easy to get now for the longer shell and some loaded shells are available. AJ

I was told by a gunsmith once that the 45-70 Govt. has a 40 foot loop at a 1000 yds. Can anyone else verify this.

Ken, that's funny because that is actually what he said. I just thought I would say forty because it sounded more realistic.

That 40 foot trajectory arc is why they have a spirit level built into the front sight. Just a bit of a cant and the shot is missed.
