This 12 gauge shotgun would be ideal for a youngster or a woman of small stature who is just starting out. It has a 30 inch barrel with an Improved Modified choke tube. The Monte Carlo stock has a length of pull of 14 1/4 inches. 12 gauge 1100's loaded with 7/8 or one ounce loads have very light recoil which is what you want with new shooters. I will include a T&S shell catcher. Price is $350 plus $35 shipping to the lower 48. Frank Novotny Wickenburg AZ
The Sportsman 12 Auto was simply a slightly less refined 1100.
Near as I can tell, the only real difference was less roll engraving, and it would have originally had birch wood. I believe the metal finish was the same as any other run of the mill 1100.
Someone replaced the factory wood w/ 1100 walnut trap wood, and the factory barrel for a 1100 trap barrel, so this is every bit as good as a 1100 trap gun, but 1/3 to 1/2 cheaper.

you saved me $385.00
