1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Is the finish slightly pitted and blemished or is it just the picture quality?

MKIV/GCNM 70 series were made between 1970 and 1983. The GC MKIV Series 80 National Match were made from 1983 to 1996. They were offered in stainless from 1986 to 1996. The nickel finish was not offered after 1985. Wayne

I found that if you telephone Colt Arms at (860) 236-6311
and hold for a customer service rep. they will take your gun's serial # and tell you what it's made of and when it was made.

That's a great gun you have.

Here's my 1987 series 80 National Match in stainless steel with original wood grips.

You'll be hard presssed to get more than about $950.00
    for your Colt.

Thanks Wayne. They feel just right in your hand. They are simple, rugged classics and just do the job sending the big round.

I wonder how many were actually made...more than any other handgun ever I'll bet if you include copies by other makers...for about a hundred years.

    Here's to the 1911.

Did he want twice what it's worth? It was hard to say.
