1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For sale is my Browning BT-99 Max. I am selling due to lack of use and interest in general in addition to a shoulder injury earlier this year. I am the only owner and it was purchased new in August 1999. This year this gun saw only about 200 rounds. In 2006 I had the “annual” (cleaning and spring replacements) along with the forcing cones lengthened. Both were done by well known gunsmith, Pylinski Arms—the price of this work was 215.00 in 2006.

It also has a Kick-Eez pad on it and this is the only modifications this gun has had. I am unsure if I have the box. I have taken very good care of this shotgun; it has never been dropped or mistreated. The barrel is 34” and factory ported. The pictures with the dime show the absolute worst damages in the wood due to normal use. I have no idea how the ding on the pistol grip happened. The stock is factory Monte Carlo and is unaltered except for the Kick-Eez recoil pad.

I know of no mechanical problems at all but will be sold “as is” with no guarantees. It comes with one factory full choke and wrench. I do have the owner’s manual with it too. Gun is in very good condition and has been well taken care of. We are not set up to ship to California or anyplace else with special restrictions or requirements. I only plan to sell and ship to the lower 48 states. I have priced what I think is very fair and do not intend to accept lower offers.

Must be shipped to your FFL in which I must have a signed copy of his/her license. I will pay the packaging, shipping and insurance up to a total of 50.00. If you would like to view some of my feedback and my partner’s feedback on gunbroker.com, we are known as localgunguys and CaptainSmoke. Price is $1250.00 shipped. I will only accept payment in the form of a certified bank check with a reasonable fund clearance time period.

Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

Just a few additions of info on gun:

Pull trigger and is NOT a drop-out trigger

    Gun is in north/central Indiana

It has the ejector that kicks the hull out (the extractor kind just raises it up)

How many choke tubes go with the gun?

Have only one factory full tube with the gun.

Yes, I do shoot there in addition to being the President.

Why is the MAX so highly demanded? What is special about it? The (2) other factory chokes that came with it are not availiable with the gun? Do you have the original owner manual that came with the gun? Do you have the original Browning Pad?

I know a new shooters that need a BT-99 for 16 yd. and handicap singles. He's looking for a good gun at a fair price. That gun appears to have had a good share of rounds through it. Is there any galling in the forend metal?

If I had a choice between a BT-99 Max and the similar high rib BT-100, I would probably choose the BT-99 Max because of the proven design. Over a period of 25 years I owned 5 different BT99s and shot my highest averages ever with one of them. Incidentally I shot better averages with factory Full choke compared to Improved Modified.

What is unique about the Max that makes it so highly demanded? Is it more highly demanded than a Plus?

Thank you for your time, Rodbuster.

The Max is in high demand because of the high fixed rib same as a BT100. The Plus is also in high demand because of its features high adjustable rib and built in recoil reduction.

The deal with the choke tube is the fact that I never used the others and sold them years back. The deal with California is the special approval that dealers need from the state in order to ship a gun there---I have personally seen the paperwork and I fully understand why reasonable people do not want to deal with that state---nothing against the citizen's at all !!! I do have the owners manual---just as stated in the original posting.

It is not bad info, California wants each dealer to fill out a special application and paperwork to be able to send firearms there---it is not just send from FFL to FFL.

If you want to see the "documentation" go to the California Office of Attorney General web-site and read all about it then you will better understand.

A private party can send a shotgun to a FFL in California exactly as you would send one to a dealer in any other state. I have done it numerous times. By the way, why is the gun AS IS? I have never seen that before on TS.Com.

    rick979,

The gun is "as is" simply because I cannot control what happens once it leaves my hands. There is nothing wrong with this gun and I would take it alone to a big shoot tomorrow for unlimited rounds.

This kind of stuff is why I will not post anything for sale on this site. If you guys do not like the price or the terms of the sale then move on! How about minding your own business for a change.

A little off topic but years ago when I lived in Ft Wayne, I shot at Deer Creek a lot. Nice club ( and lots of bats to shoot at)

BFD... Glad to see that your first name is "Bryan". All this time I thought your sign-on was an anacronym that began with "Big".

And no knock and Ontario chris. Geez... It's a forum. Forums are places we can express an opinion.

If you would like to sell anything on any open Web site you will get taken to task . Every thread that is just a load of bull will be hit hard .

If you have something to sell don,t over sell no one there thinks any BT-99 is Highly in Demand . If your selling gun and it is ruff don,t say it not ( we have eyes) .

With that said this BT-99 Max does not look that bad and it is a fair price just being a little over sold . NO BIG DEAL

I think that very few high rib BT-99 Max guns were actually made because at the time Browning was actively marketing the BT100.
