1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

I have a large, colorful, well aged, dense blank for sale. The matching forend is shown and will be included of course. The pictures were taken in full sunlight with some tung oil on the blank.

This blank is marked English Walnut but I have been told that it is Circassian. I'm no expert so you be the judge. The blank is 20" long, 7 1/4 inches high in the back and 3 3/4 inches at the front. It is a full 2 3/4 inches thick. For some reason the pictures make the blank look slightly lighter than it actually is. It is varying shades of brown, plenty of burl, some fiddleback with mineral lines and redish highlights.

My price is now $550 and that will include ground shipping to the lower 48. Please ask any questions before saying "I'll take it."

Contact me by private message or my email which is listed above. Delete any x's in the email and you'll have the correct address. Thanks for looking.

Circassian is the species...."English" is used to describe wood from Juglans Regia trees grown in California and other regions...I am open to correction if I've got any of this wrong..."French Walnut" is also interchangeable to some extent...nice piece regardless! Will make a great looking stock!!!

Thanks Ljutic. It is confusing. I always though Walnut is basically walnut and the name English, Turkish, etc was a regional thing. For instance Turkish, being from a very dry country was slower grower and hence denser. I'm really not that knowledgable on the subject.

Regardless of what it actually is the blank is very nice and needs a new home. Since, at my initial price, it was not scooped up I will entertain reasonable offers.

Looks like the left side will be a little more detailed once the stock is formed. One of those blanks that you do not know what you have until it is worked. If the right side matched the left, it probably would have been sold by now. Nice blank though.

The end grain shows that this blank will be pretty uniform on both sides with the more lively side predominating. It will make an outstanding stock especially is you need allot of offset or toe.

    Reasonable offers considered.
