1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Besides doing lot's of gunsmithing on the SX-1's and others, I also build custom 1911 pistols. Here's my latest creation. You could possibly buy this one, or have me build one for you. Check it out.

I started with a Caspian Frame and slide in the Commander length (for the .45 top end) and added a Fusion Stainless steel 9mm (or 38 Super) slide.
I used an Ed Brown match barrel for the .45 and a Briley match barrel in 9 mm. The .45 slide has a matted top, French borders, lowered and fared ejection port, serrated rear of slide 30 lpi. in a blued finish.

The 9 mm slide is stainless and has a serrated top and rear of slide, lowered and fared ejection port, french borders, a fitted match grade Briley barrel with the spherical bushing system.

The frame is checkered 20 lpi, polished and blued with an S & A SS beavertail grip safety, checkered ss flat mainspring housing, and a Wilson ambi ss safety, with a .200 slide release in ss. One in .45 and one in 9mm/38 super. The sights used on both slides are Novak lo mount. Fiber optics on the .45 and white dot on the 9mm. The trigger is a Videki and is set at a crisp 3 lbs.
I made the grips from some hi grade Walnut and checkered them at 22 lpi.

Both calibers function flawlessly on the same frame and accuracy is superb!
Two magazines are included in each caliber and the gun comes with a soft carry case with pockets for the magazines and extra slide.

    I hope you like it!

Really like the checkering pattern on those grips. Very unique.

The price for this piece is $3250 for the complete set up. $2250 in one caliber only. I can build these from Caspian frames and slides or upgrade your 1911 from mild to wild. Pricing would be by quote for the work requested.
