I am surprised to hear this. He was the perfect fit for the good-OLE-boys club, at the top of the ATA. We can only hope that some of the other good-OLE-boys don't follow him.

I understand the name of the new Executive Director of the ATA will be announced this PM on the ATA website. Any guesses? Break 'em all! Tom Ruble

I'm not going to name any guesses but I can assure you the new ED is not a typical 'good ol' boy'. While this person has been shooting his/her entire lifetime, I feel strongly that he/she will be a great asset to the ATA and the sport of trapshooting. He/she will bring new, fresh, and business minded ideas to our sport. I expect great things and applaud ATA management for their well thought out decision.

P.S. I have only met Jim Thompson once so I have no idea what he did or did not do. My opinion is only based on the qualifications and personal integrity of the new Director.

Just found out that Dr. Frank Rively, of Pennsylvania has agreed to become the new ATA Executive Director. Good for him. He certainly knows the trapshooting game and has been around it for a while. Good luck to him and may both he and the ATA achieve success in the future. Break 'em all! Tom Ruble

Palin would have been an excellent choice. But she would quit half way through Her first term.

I talked to Frank last night for about an hour. He has a lot of good ideas and a knowledge of and passion for the sport that the ED (and the ATA) needs. I hope the EC will let him do his job because his success or failure should be based on what he does not what the EC will not let do.

I think this was a great choice. Phil Kiner

BTW Frank and I are not personal friends so this is an unsolicited recommendation

I do not know the man or of his quailifications but as long as he does what is best for the ATA membership overall and not the chosen few and or the Executive Committee he will probably be alright ... The job must have some qualifications that have to be met (?) rather than just be an appointment by the Good Ol'Boys Club of someone who can be their mouth piece and do as they want, when they want ... Is there a Job Description or something that anyones knows about that has ever been posted or do they draw a name out of a hat until they find one they like ..? WPT ... (YAC) ...
