Please don't be naive. Educate yourself. Study the history of gun prohibition and attempted gun prohibition before uttering such nonsense.

We do not still have "our guns". we have some of them. We do not have a lot of things. Select fire, silencers, the ability to send one to our cousin or friend in another state, and more.

What we do have is an agency, ATF with an accompanying bureacracy, paid for with our tax dollars, that decides what we may and may not have.

I can't blast a couple potholes for ducks on my property. When I was young the DNR had a pamphlet showing us how to do this.

We have not been a free country for just under a century. The cage keeps getting smaller. Every time something happens they want to enact new laws.

An alien kills a bunch of people and somone proposes laws to hamper the rest of the country.

I still want my potholes, if anyone has the pamphlet please contact me.

    Jacob,

Just remember that a slick talker is just that, a slick talker. The true read on someone is their core values and not what they say. Just keep an open mind when you read about the candidates and don't let the news on tv cloud your view, they tend to be a bit on the bias side.

Just have a conversation with our neighbors in Australia sometime about what they thought would never happen. A few years ago they took most of the guns away from the citizens and crime went out of site.

Just a little food for thought.

I have to agree with the post from ec90T on the Austrailian gun deal. The goverment spent over $300 million on that project. Once they collected all the guns home invasions increased 300%, mostly on the elderly. (their published statistics) Now the Austrailian Goverment is talking about taking away swords. How much more insane does this have to get before the citizens go into complete revolt over the goverments stupidity? If it were me they better take away my leaf rake, I'm liable to flog someone to death with it. And what about my baseball bats? I also own a couple of sharp sticks......get the point?

There is a faction in all the parties that would take guns from everyone. We need to be staunch in standing up and voting for our rights; however the 2nd amendment can not be the only issue that we consider in our vote. Helath care, taxes, foreign policy and the economy are all on equal footing when we decide who to cast a ballot for. More or less govenment?

Take a look at the slick willie era,

At the slash of his pen, importation that was already gone thru the hole permit process, money spent, and in shipment, by exuctive action was BANNED! I don't know the numbers but many buisness people there money already spent were just S O L, and hurting.

If slick willie was able to do this what will barrak do? and remember NO MATTER HOW SLENDER A MARGINE, his win will be the mandate that the liberal dums use to do whatever they WANT!

Another thing, THERE IS NO reasonable gun control! anybody saying there is just wants to eat that apple (IE create anti gun laws, IE guncontrol) one small bite at a time!

Once they chop saw your K80, Kolar or any other gun you use there's no welder good enough to weld it shoot-able back together. Plus if you're lucky the government might pay you $20 for it. Don't fool yourselves. Look at Australia and UK. Both have taken guns way from the people. Both countries violent crimes skyrocketed after the ban. Too late for them to go back as all the law abiding people no longer have their guns. There's plenty of cities and states in the US that are trying to do the same thing but in different ways. Serial numbered bullets are coming. Talk of going to steel shot? How do they put a serial number on #7's? They can't. What they'll do is ban lead and steel shot won't be available because they cannot trace it back to the buyer. Get the picture. With the wrong people in government anything can happen. Be very careful who you vote for.

Poblem is I keep hearing about not from my cold dead hands. Bullsh4&*. I doubt if their could be 2% of the people on this or anyother sight that would be willing to grab a smokepole and march on Washington. When they are ready to take them they will walk right in and most of the people will had them right over. What the hell you think. We've handed over most of our freedom now. Their is not much to go. Both parties are mind set to go to ONE WORLD ORDER and the easiet way is to let the parties elect the offical to lead the way. Most of the officals now should be in prison but they know if they feed the people with a bunch of( give them what I want to hear ) they will be in for another four years. Come on give me a break.Cut the bull. B12

The next president will probably appoint several new judges to the Supreme Court. We just won our constitutional right to keep our guns by the narrowest of margins. What kind of judges do you think Obama and a Democratic Senate will place on the court. If Obama wins you will lose the few freedoms you have left. I think they will go farther than the second amendment and get rid of free speech too. They will silence the opposition.

Jacob thanks for posting what I have been saying since the supreme court handed down the decision on the right to own and bear arms. You are correct. No one is going to take your rights to own and bear arms away from you. Only those who want to cry "the sky is falling the sky is falling." are making that claim. As for the next nominees to the court, seven of the last nine have been appointed by republican presidents. What's the bitch if a couple of the next judges are appointed by the newly elected president? Those judges have a funny way of being able to read and understand the english language as it's written. They make their decisions on the literal interpretation of the wording of the laws and it's application to the constitution of the United States of America. Dan

If only that were true. If it were true then ALL the judges would have agreed with the 2nd amendment the way it was written, not a very small majority. They have a funny way of IGNORING what is written and putting in what is not written.

The ignorance here is staggering. Yea, your right, it would be impossible for the government to take away our firearms. It would be very simple to outlaw the sale of firearms and ammo, and to arrest anyone caught shooting a gun or in possession of a firearm. I don't expect the government to ever go door to door. They won't have to.

    Jacob,

Nice way to spout the liberal crap they shove down your throat at the schools these days. You get an "A" from your commie Poly-Sci prof. for your posts, but that and a nickle wont get jack squat in the real world. Remember that the lions share of college profs turn to academia because they can't make it in the business world. The next best thing is to influence the minds of the next generation. Don't believe me? Look at yourself. You're walking proof. Get off your parents nipple and make your own way. Get back to me when you live life in the real world for 10 years or so. Your views might change a bit with a little experience under your belt.

Study the history? If I recall correctly, a certain Mr. Reagan had the biggest and most extreme gun legislation put through.

Last I looked Australia and Great Britain are still up and running. Ask them where their guns are. Of course without the U.S. standing watch for them, it would be a different story. If you have time, call up Sarah Brady and ask her what she thinks.
