    Elections have consequenses.

If we have not learned anything else the past year and a half, it is that elections have consequenses, sometimes dire consequences.

We often say that the next election is the most important, but in this case, this is very true.

Whatever your party, PLEASE do not sit this one out. It is vitally important that you use this election to vote for a candidate who sincerely believes that government should be limtied, that the private, free market economy should be allowed to function, and that individuals be allowd to retain their freedoms and rights our founders intended.

If you own or operate a small business, you may have already seen the heavy hand of the federal government at work. Maybe it's todays version of the goon squads and idealogues who inhabit the federal agencies like the departement of labor, EEOC, IRS, you name it. Maybe you've gotten the notice about posting "How to Unionize" posters at your place of business? Got your "affirmative action plan" in place and approved by the feds? Been fined for something lately? Been audited?

Or mabye you live in a municipality that is replacing every single street sign to comply with the feds' new upper and lower case requirement for street signs (I kid you not).

And have you gotten your 2011 health insurance bill yet????

You get the picture. Please go vote, call your neighbor, call your adult kids, write a letter to the editor, whatever you can do to get like thinking people to the polls.

We will still have the same president, and he will still be signging "executive orders" in the dark of night, but maybe, just maybe, we can get a new congress to fix some of the disasters of the last 18 months. We can at least send a message.

And not to get patisan here, but when voting in a federal election for house or senate, when you vote for a Democrat, you are literally voting for Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reed - don't kid yourself and be deluded into thinking that your local "conservative democrat" you send to washington will be anythng less than a rubber stamp for Pelosi, Reed, Frank, and the others. It might matter less in your local races, but in the house and senate, party is everything.

And when you vote for a governor, ask yourself who you want appointing judges, setting regulatory policy, and impacting the tax structure in your own state.

Please give this serious thought and please go vote.

Pelosi reminded us of that in 2008. Just look at the health car debate on CSPAN, oh wait Obama promised and didn't deliver that either. Time for a reminder. Take out the trash.

One 82-year-old lady loves Obama and she may have a very good point. She says that Obama is amazing, and is rebuilding the American dream! She gives us an entirely new slant on the "amazing" job Obama is doing, and she says that she will thank God for the President. Keep reading for her additional comments and an explanation.

    When discussing Obama, she says:

    1. Obama destroyed the Clinton Political Machine, driving a stake through the heart of Hillary's presidential aspirations - something no Republican was ever able to do.
    2. Obama killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - no more Kennedys trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home.

    3. Obama is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes! Dennis Moore had never lost a race. Evan Bayh had never lost a race. Byron Dorgan had never lost a race. Harry Reid - soon to be GONE! These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed. By the end of 2010, dozens more will be gone. Just think, in December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election cycles, they had picked up 14 Senate seats and 52 House seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. However, in just one year, Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the House - if not the Senate - back to the Republicans.

    4. Obama has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Sadly, every generation seems to need to re-learn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. Obama is bringing home the lesson very well:

    Liberals tax, borrow and spend.
Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America ..
Liberals want to take over the economy.
Liberals think they know what is best for everyone.
Liberals are not happy until they are running YOUR life.

    5. Obama has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one year, he has rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the streets millions of freedom loving Americans. Name one other time when you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America !

    6. Obama, with his "amazing leadership," has sparked the greatest period of sales of firearms and ammunition this country has seen. Law abiding citizens have rallied and have provided a "stimulus" to the sporting goods field while other industries have failed, faded, or moved off-shore.

    7. In all honesty, one year ago I was more afraid than I have been in my life. Not afraid of the economy, but afraid of the direction our country was going. I thought, Americans have forgotten what this country is all about. My neighbors and friends, even strangers, have proved to me that my lack of confidence in the greatness and wisdom of the American people has been flat wrong.

    8. When the American people wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them! Barack Obama has served to wake up these great Americans!

Again, I want to say: "Thank you, Barack Obama!" After all, this is exactly the kind of hope and change we desperately needed!!

    November 2nd is HUGE!!!!

Great post on Obama. It does look like Americans of all stripes have woken up to some degree. But for this election think of it as moving to your last post with a great score going. Time to bear down and finish strong. Call a neighbor, vote, pray that we make some progress.

And when this election is over, remember that Obama still controls the executive branch and will still have the power to make appointments and sign executive orders. So we will need to hold the newcomers' feet to the fire to make sure they don't turn into the politicians they just replaced.

Make sure that the older and infirm folks in your neighborhood have a ride to the polls. Make an effort to take them to vote. Most older people are appalled at what has gone on in the U.S. under the Obama administration.
