Why does an 89 score in handicap always feel like it's about 3 or 4 birds below a ninety?

Because 3 or 4 birds from the end was when you started thinking about the 90.

Once that crap starts, you're a goner.

It's usually a good Lewis class score.

How about getting a 1/2 yard punch two different times at the same gun club for an 86?

How about the times when you just want to hear a "5" before you walk to the next station!

Shot the Super Handicap in Butte today with 25-35 mph winds, that threw tgt's all over, and kept misses in the air for SEVERAL seconds. Shot with long yardage shooters who were ALL quite competant. We were getting; 3's,4's and the occasional 2 with alarming regularity. You get the idea.

NOT a lot of "fives" today either.

    Sometimes it's simply TOUGH.

Thirty years ago, a friend of mine made a very true statement. "If you're really a trap shooter, you have yet to shoot your worst score." I have carded a 54, good shooting.

I went to a company sponsored sporting clays shoot last fall. It was the second or third time I played that game. I think I shot a 39 or 40.

On the way home, I stopped at the club and shot an 89 at handicap. I was so happy I almost wet my pants.
