One Happy benefit, IF THEY FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION, with the Republicans taking over the House of Representative, is that they now control the ability to originate revenue legislation. Yes, the Republicans now have control of the taxing powers of the Federal Government. Bet you never heard any mention of that little bit of the Constitution in any pre-election news coverage.

    From the U.S. Constitution

Section 7 - Revenue Bills, Legislative Process, Presidential Veto

All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Note that tax bills have to start in the HOUSE! If they don't start it, it does not happen (at least if they follow the Constitution). Let's not let them forget it.

Remember also that the original Gun Control Act of 1934, that's the one that basically made short barrel shotguns, silencers and other things unlawful for most citizens, is a TAX LAW! That is why Treasury, and not Justice was the enforcement agency. The TAX stamp to allow you to possess a short barrel shotgun or other things was implemented with a $200 tax. At the time, when the average hourly wage was only around 35 to 50 cents an hour, that cost amounted to almost a half years wages for the working man.

What do you figure the odds are of the Republicans actually flexing their newly won taxing power muscles?

There is almost 100 years of corupt government that we need to get reversed!

Its going to take a lot of "educating" the dumb public to get there!!

The 1934 laws were to try and get the booze runner and the likes of Al and Bady Face under control at, again, the expence of "law abiding citizens"!!

IMO, the 2012 election campaign began on 11/3/10.

As soon as the new House members are seated, there will most likely be several bills to repeal all or part of the Obama health care legislation and/or to deny funding for the health care legislation.

This will force House members to vote and go on the record as supporting repeal or supporting continuance of the legislation. When the Democratic legislators look around and not see many of their former colleagues, they may have pause in voting to continue funding for the legislation or the legislation itself.

This same process will most likely continue in the Senate. The Republicans may not be able to pass repeal and Obama will most likely override any repeal legislation but the senators will have to go on record as supporting the legislation.

If your senator or representative is Democratic, you may want to send him or her some vitamins so that they stay in good health until they can be voted out.
