If anybody can track down one of those Dram Equivalent/Muzzle Velocity Tables, can you post it here?
I have some shells that don't have muzzle velocity listed, but one box said 24 gram/3-3/4 dram equivalent, and another box said 1 oz/Max dram equivalent.
I suspect they're pretty racy loads. Just curious what the chart says they should be.
the link above is the best i could find after 30 minutes of searching the internet. I did a little rough calculating based on this chart and i would guess that your 24 gram load is probably some where around 1500FPS. please dont take my calculations too serious for they are only a rough claculation. BYG
page 102 and 103 of the Lyman Reloading Handbook 5th edition has the table BUT no listing for 24gram 3 3/4 dram but 1oz 3 3/4 is 1400 fps and the max 1oz load is 4 1/2 drams which is 1510 fps so BYG is probably pretty damn close.
No 1oz is as low as it goes in 12 ga and to add a further wrinkle the Dram Equivalent is different for different gauges. IE 12ga 1oz 3dram = 1235 , 16ga 1oz 3dram = 1275 , 20ga 1oz 3dram = 1275
