Is anyone using the DR XL-1 wad with 1-1/8 shot is Remington hulls. It appears the wad length would work, but I didn't find any data.

    Thanks

If you are referring to the Green XL-1's, they work great with Titegroup powder because of its density. I'm not sure about the bulky powders.

I'm using their Jammer XL-1 purple wad in STS hulls with both one-ounce and 1-1/8 loads with PB powder. I get no movement of the wad pressure indicator with one ounce of shot and ever so slight movement with 1-1/8. Crimps look great (about the depth of a dime) and the shells go "bang" very nicely.

I spoke with Kevin about using them for both loads and he compared TGT-12 wads, which is what I was using for both loads, to the Jammer XL-1 for me. The difference in shot cup depth and cushion section height is very minimal.

I use the XL-1 in AA and Remington STS hulls with 1 oz. shot
and Red Dot Powder. You can also use the XL-1 in the Gold Medal
hull but you must load 1 1/8 oz. shot.

I'm using the XL-1 in Gun Club hulls for 1 1/16 oz loads (± 455 grains Lawrence or West Coast) and they work quite nicely with 17.2 grains of Clay Dot and a WW 209 primer. No adjustments for the crimp from 1 oz but they are a tad flatter across the folds than the 1 oz.

I have used XL-1 wads in the STS and Gun Club hulls using Promo powder and 1 oz of shot. Also have used them for my "heavier" loads which are 1- 1/16 oz. No problems with loading the heavier load. I use a Hornady 366 loader. Although I haven't loaded the 1-1/16 loads in a while; I believe I had to make a slight adjustment on the crimps. Ed
