Ordered the neon green DRXL-1 for 1 oz. STS loads. Alliant does not show a recipe for this wad/pwdr combo. Anyone got one using either Win or Rem primer?
    Looking for 1200-1250 fps.

    Thanks-

    Mike

    "Mojo-those specs are for AA,hulls."

The XL-1 wads are also for AA hulls according to Kevin. When Winchester went to a denser powder and reduced the internal capacity of the AA hull, the WAA12SL wads and their CB clones were too long and had to be compressed to close the hull. The XL-1 addresses that problem.

Checking both Downrange and Graf for XL1 - "burgundy wad has been changed to
Neon Green. It is produced for primary use in the Rem STS and Win hull with
    1 oz. loads".

Guess I will have to give Downrange a call to see what they say about Clay Dot and the green XL-1.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Mojo-

A few of my shooting friends use this data for both A-A & STS hulls with DownRange XL-1s, Jammers, and TGT12s with equal success. Mid-pressure loadings and nice to shoot. I'm sure Kevin at DownRange will tell you thesame when you call him. HTH

Mike, because ClayDot and Clays are about as close as twins go to
    http://data.hodgdon.com/shotshell_load.asp
and see what Hodgdon has to show. I load the XL-1 in Remington hulls, ( STS, Gun Club , RXP's and Black Game Loads ) using Fiocchi and Wolf primers, 17.5gr. of ClayDot and 1oz. of 8 1/2's. Excellent load for 16's. This shows them right around 1180fps.

JBMI - good idea...until Alliant can get the info up for this recipe. I will
go with 17.5 C/Dot and the Win primer. Should be a soft load about 8000 psi or so.

Just got the wads today - WOW - them suckers are GREEN....!

    Thanks to all,

    Mike
