I bought a bag of the Downrange Blue Federal 12S0 clone wad and tried loading them in a Federal Top Gun Hull w/1 Ounce of shot and 20.5 grains Promo and the wad is too long so I had to use their Windjammer 1 1/8th oz wad to make a nice looking re-load.

I tried it with a regular federal 12S0 and it didn't work either. Went to the federal 12S1 and the crimps were a little dished but worked fine.

My 800C doesn't like them either. Petals are too long. Rammer hits and tips wad.

Genuine Fed. and Claybusters work perfect. I load 17.5 grn. Promo.

My son loads them on his MEC 9000 OK.

If you are using a MEC loader sometimes the Fed top gun and Wally Feds open up if the punch crimp is not deep enough... giving a false impression that the wad is too long....a little deeper on the punch crimp and a little lower on the final tapering station usually keeps the shell closed for me
