while on our Sunday afternoon trap and skeet outing, my 15 year old hit the doubles with one shot from station #7. i was wondering how often that happens.

yeah, im sure its rare in trap. of course, since hes 15, it felt pretty good. in about 50 years, and 100 more pounds, he will have the trap shooters attitude.

It happens alot with beginners. The good old timers would do it only to show off, because it is scored first bird dead, reshoot the pair to establish the 2nd bird. Haven't looked at the rules lately but I think you only have so many tries before the 2nd bird is declared loss.

Most good shooters would shoot the first bird before the center stake.
