In light of the recent publicity with Wayne Lapierre and the NRA, I really think Wayne needs to find a top notch Constitutional lawyer and make him his best buddy. Wayne needs someone who can shred these unconstitutional attacks on the Second Amendment. Period. We don't need a discourse on any other topic. Period. "Shall not be infringed". And don't listen to Biden when he says "impinged"; different word different meaning.

    Webster College Dictionary:

infringe: violate; transgress. v.i. encroach; tresspass.

impinge: v.i. (with on, against etc.) 1.collide. 2. encroach. impingement

encroach: enter upon the domain of another; tresspass; make inroads.

collide: come into violent contact; conflict

violate: break or infringe, as a contract. 2. break in upon; do violence to 3. treat with irreverence; desecrate; profane. 4.ravish (a woman)

transgress: go beyond (a limit) 2. break or violate (law or rule)

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

"shall not be infringed". Infringed being the stronger word.

So to infringe on Second Amendment Rights would be an infringement.

The one thing the government schools can take credit for is the failure of teaching(over all)that WORDS have meaning!!

The Founders could all have been Professors of the English language in today's college's! The bunch we have now can't hold a candle to them!!

rpeerless: Thanks for the definitions. When it comes down to it, it is what it is. What charges my a$$ is the liberals want to amend the constitutional through case law and/or violations. If they don't believe in the 2nd Amendment then amend it in accordance with the procedure as spelled out by our Founding Fathers. They know they can't get that accomplished so they "back door" us. These cowards are unfit to rule as they violate their oaths of office to uphold the constitution and attempt to backdoor us. When you think about it what other part of the constitution is constantly violated like the 2nd Amendment? BT100dc

Here is an article of an opinion published in our todays Sacramento Bee. I posted it on another thread under politics. It is a good example of liberals use of language to work on their agenda (taking guns).

It is a good read. I am glad to see someone voicing our feelings!

The real goal was, is, and always will be the elimination of handguns.

The anti's have not been able to directly ban handguns on the state or federal level, though they had some success in cities.

The banning of semi-auto rifles is key to that. The purpose is to demonstrate that the Second Amendment can be infringed for public safety reasons.

Once that precedent is established, then handguns will more easily be infringed upon.

"certainly, you don't suggest that such madness has any validity?"

wayno if you think there is no validity to win12's statements that is your problem. Personally I feel that there isn't a truer statement anywhere than this.

"Obamas proven him right .... Obamas liberal trash are Americans terrorist"

Obama himself is the biggest terrorist of the bunch. What the hell he spends what ever he wants, when ever he wants, on what ever he wants. He doesn't wait for congress to vote on his expenditures. He just issues an executive order an it is done.

He in effect holds the country hostage. He raises taxes and refuses to cut spending. He hasn't balanced the budget since he was elected. Thats over four years. Yet you don't think he is a terrorest.....LOL. Just keep drinking the Cool-Aide.

After all we can't fix stupid. You have a nice day now you hear. Also he goes after the guns when the murder rate in this country has been declining for almost 20 years. Of course that is just SOP as far as you are concerned. If not why else would you get upset and call one man's stated opinion "madness"????

"He in effect holds the country hostage."

Do I dare ask, do you think it is your guns or more of your children?

Banning guns will save children's lives then not banning guns will cost children's lives????????? Is that the ultimatum or a supposition?

i am going to try, just one more time, to communicate with you, win12, in a rational fashion. please try to listen before you respond, as above.

look, i am a 71 year old man from the north carolina piedmont. i began shooting at about age 6, with a 22. at age 10, i was given an ithaca 37, featherweight, 16 gauge. i hunted for thousands of hours in the years that followed--ducks on the sounds of nc, doves, bobwhite quail, before they died out in the late '70s. i bought and sold dozens of guns.

then, i began to shoot trap, in the late '80's. i shot over 25,000 registered birds in the next 8 or 10 years. my life was centered on the sport. if you don't believe me, check the ata records. i am a life member.

i stopped shooting because of a need to pay far more attention to my law practice than i was. i sold everything, and didn't shoot again until late spring of this year. i discovered that my body had changed far more than i feared. but i still intend to shoot at local clubs, for fun, and casual competition. i am a staunch supporter of ALL the bill of rights; not just the 2nd amendment.

although i do not think we would ever get along, because of your amazing political positions, i will simply decline to respond to those posts, and hope that we can be civil in communications about guns and the shooting sports.

I will simply decline to read ANY of your posts. I certainly don't respect your opinion no matter how many rounds you've fired.

Well I read his post and I didn't see one thing that required a response from you nor did I read where he asked for a response from you in any of his posts. So if you are going to decline to respond. Why the he!! are you responding then??????

I am assuming wayno didn't see the latest de-clasified documents from the KGB files, that were given out to the public domain about 3 years ago.

The KGB documents basically said the McCarthy was on the RIGHT track and had picked out the RIGHT people in his commie hunts!!!

You can shoot all you want, as early in childhood as your parents allowed. Or even own thousands of firearms, ALL that won't make you a history buff.

It takes reading and listening to others who KNOW more then you to LEARN.
