Don't hunt if you can't shoot

    Since all 3 shots missed in the same general direction, I'd say that the scope was not zeroed correctly. Of course, it's the hunter's responsibility to know where his rifle is shooting.

    My guess is that the Jackass walked out of Cabella's with a Savage package gun and thought he was "good to go".

    Nothing's wrong with Savage.

    I think Mr. Tron was remarking that the guy probably saw that it had been laser sighted at the factory, and because of that, thought it was "zeroed."

    Never took the gun out to the range to sight it in.

    I do that with my rifles before season, every year, even if they haven't been touched since the last time I shot them.

    I once made a 2,000 yard shot on a Big Ram! Problem was....it was painted on the door of the game warden's truck. Sure am glad it was 2,000 yards away. I made a clean getaway!
