Recently heard a comment that there's no way but to pass the immigration bill.
    WHAT?????

This is an illusion. Why not ENFORCE the EXISTINGING immigration LAWS and make them effective? Put DHS on the borders with the Border Patrol if you must use them.

That is the solution and everyone knows it...except maybe the current administraion.

Obozo's Gov't only wants this immigration bill passed so they can count on 11+ million more Democrat votes. What the hell difference does that make when you steal votes anyway. Ya know ---multiple voting in Ohio (Boehner should be screaming!) voter intimidation in Philly, No Military votes allowed etc.?

The current immigration laws are not ineffective. It is the Enforcement of the laws that is ineffective. Passing new laws will not solve the immigration problem.

With the economy the way it is how can we afford to bring in eleven million immigrants from foreign countries? Might be less expensive to just send them care packages where they are or employ them with work at home internet jobs or some other "go to meeting" job?

pardon the cut and paste of parts of the posted article, it was too good at explaining this particular issue. I hope that you will take the time to read the entire thing. Kip

".....My theory is this: while the abuse of power stemmed directly from the thuggish Chicago way which was emanating from the White House, the heart of the problem is the utopian idealism of the President, his inner leftist circle, the old media, his big donors, right down to the Democrat man in the street. They all agree that victory for their side is so virtuous and vital, nothing must stand in its way. Not the law, not respect for others, not common decency.

Democrats, from liberals to leftists, see themselves along with Obama as the embodiment of hope, and their opponents as anti-hope. Of course those opponents are illegitimate and must be defeated by any means necessary. Of course, the limits posed on elected and bureaucratic power by our anti-utopian founding fathers must be breached.

Republican politicians and bureaucrats are just as partisan, and can be corrupt and power hungry -- which is why our Constitution limits government -- but their sense of mission has limits, and they are grounded in American history. They accept constitutional limits. Democrat liberals and leftists do not.

Even Republican politicians understand the value of American individualism. However much any Republican politicians may seek and abuse personal power for their own gain, they don't have an institutional and moral goal of diminishing each person's independence for the common good. Democrats see liberty as a threat to their agenda. They bristle at the word, and envision a gun toting militiaman. They see liberty as the enemy of food stamps, and they want food stamps more.

Liberal idealism is so self-righteous that the liberal urge to power will brook no limit. Freedom of speech and assembly and the press, Supreme Court rulings, equal application of the tax laws -- only for fellow liberals, liberal media, and liberal advocacy groups.

The scandals making headlines are not surprising, they are inevitable...."

11 million will turn into 50 to 60 million! They become citizens and then the first thing they will do is bring Grandma Marie, Brother Nacho, Uncle Pedro, etal over.

The unemployment rate hasn't been lower than 7.5% in something like 5 years. 50 million people (more than the entire population of Argentina) on food stamps in this country. We got Obamacare thanks to the illegals overwhelming our health care system. And we want to bring in more?

At the end of WWII the population of this country was 140 million, when we landed a man on the moon - 200 million, Now 320 million. How big do we want this country to be? 400M, 500M, 1 Billion plus like China, India? Somewhere along the line we gotta say no, why not now?

Where are the environmentalist on the quality of life? Quality of life to me seemed to be better back in 1970. Less traffic, less congestion, more open space, more green space, more places to hunt, more habitat for wildlife. Time to drive a wedge between the Democraps who are for amnesty and their Sierra Club buddies who say they loath the destruction wrought by increased human activity.

Seal the border first; you can't solve this problem by amnesty. We have the right to be a soverign nation but we're not acting as one. A political answer should not be considered. In addition, the American people need to know the short and long term COST and may be we would do the right thing. Illegal immigration has to refer to all races and from all countries. We're a nation of immigrants and we should welcome legal immigration based on our needs as a country. Reagan gave amnesty to 3,000,000 with the understanding that we would solve this problem "once and for all". Now, 12 -25 million and we're still claiming we're going to fix the problem. Neither political party really wants to fix the problem and are deceptive with their facts. It's a shame but amnesty will put many out of work, create more affirmative action programs, put us at risk and we still can't fix the problem. Beware of any politician who promises border security but will do everything to prevent it. BT100dc
