My bird dog was stolen Thursday night or early Friday morning. My wife got up in

morning and the beagle was on the porch waiting to get in. They were kennel mates.

She went to pen and door wide open and then took truck to look for her. She

called her name first a few times but nothing. At end of driveway was her leash

that had been hanging on the pen.

I had been fishing on Drummond Island got home Sunday around 5pm. Fishing was

good and new knee is doing great. The news she greeted me with was devastating.

My wife is getting pictures ready and information ready for me to get passed

    around.

I just had to vent better than loading gun and doing something just as bad.

1st you have to find the thief but would much rather just get her back.

People will steal bird dogs to hunt over or sell during bird season. Guard your dogs this time of year. Hanging offense.

Good luck, hope you find her.

Years ago a friend of mine had a couple of beagles. He came home one night and they were both gone, the kennel was empty. This was a few days before the opening of rabbit season.

3 months later after the season had closed, he came home late one night and the dogs were in his driveway tied to a concrete block. He was pi**ed and happy at the same time.

    Hope you find your dog.

In my mind; stealing a dog, any dog, is a crime tantamount to abducting a child and should be dealt with accordingly.

I'll do the same in NW Ohio. Your tri-color looks like one I had years back.
Hope you get him back. Was it tatooed, or have any special markings???

    Might help to know.

Do you suspect someone local? Somebody had their eye on your pup, and knew where you lived.

Make sure you contact the local shelters. Contact your local guides in case someone tries to get rid of her there,,,,don't forget Craigslist and Gundogsonline.com

    Zordy,

I would never have thought a person could stoop that low. Steal a dog for hunting season and then abandon the poor thing. What the hell do the person's spouse and kids say/think???

Bastards should go to jail and meet Bubba for a month of "friendship".

Really sad commentary on some "humans".
