Was reading the thread about the physical part of shooting and it wearing out the body, and got to wondering about the mental part of the game.

Having been told that trapshooting is mostly a mental game, do you reckin that too much of a good thing could be dangerous to the brain? (Presuming that we still have one.)

Or, does the effect of trapshooting weaken the brain, or does the over use of the brain weaken our trapshooting?

    What ya think????

Get yourself a sweatband that's 5 sizes too small, tighten it up around your head until it cuts off the blood circulation and you start seeing stars...then you're in the right frame of mind for championship trapshooting.

    Of course it does!

Just reading a few posts on here will prove that after years of trap/skeet shooting you become mentally impaired to the point of becoming a mental midget!

Can "thinking" about the game honestly hurt you that much?

The only part of the brain that gets mentally damaged is when a trapshooter forgets that the Second Amendment applies to other guns in addition to his single shot trap gun.

Noise damage is more likely, not Boxing type damage.I don't recall Trap shooting producing Nobel prize winners. Success seems to come to those who don't think when shooting. However, when some supposedly intelligent people shoot it can produce a Cheney moment.Sturgeon

Shooting a putrid score at a major event can put you in a rubber room at Fun City.

Sadly, you all appear to be misled.

The ONLY way to shoot trap well is to have little or no brain function left - nationally known pre-requisite.

The sad truth (which is seldom spoken out loud) is that those without brains who still cannot shoot well needlessly become embittered towards shooters and are then forced to become politicians...

Most definitely a Yes to your question.

Just listen to the conversations of the self proclaimed experts that sit on the clubhouse porch on a warm sunny day!!

Those shooters that become mentally damaged from trapshooting move on to skeet and sporting clays.
