Specifically no, they recommend the 12SO which works but presents a moderately dished crimp. The new Claybuster 6100-12 does a slightly better job on GM's with 7/8 oz. of shot. The powder you use and the space it occupies also makes a difference. JRm
A student of mine who now is a very accomplished trap shooter, uses 20.5 grains of solo 1000 , 7/8 oz of 7 1/2 federal casings 12so wads and will amaze you with his breaks at the 27 yd. line and beyond! incinerate em!
SO works well in 7/8 & paper. Put a 20 ga card in the wad if you need. I agree about the VP wad. You can look at Ballistic Products web site & get the specs for the Vp wad & mike them according to the SO wad. This will get you close.
I use the CB 12SO copy in every kind of case and have no probs w/ crimps in any of them. No filler wads, no beans, no old primers, just the wad. In the 366 I use for 7/8oz with the crimp setting unchanged it will do just fine w/ Rems, Feds, Fio's, and Estates. All I load is 7/8 and 1oz and all I use are 12SO's. Works for me.
