I have been offered a couple of items in answer to my wtb postings here on TS. The way the emails were worded causes me concern about the seller being on the up and up. Does anyone know:

    Thanks, Marc

Basically I bet she said she'll buy your item and will send you payment for more than you wanted and you'll send her the item and the difference. What part of scam seems difficult to understand?

How can she scam you if you meet in person? Don't send her the money, tell her you'll pay her when you pick it up.

She (if she is a she) would probably rip you off for the cash you brought with you to buy the "Hi Grade Trap Stock". Maybe not and it could go smoothly. 50/50. BTW I suggest if you meet with someone to make a deal who you met on the internet and don't know, bring someone with you and meet in a public place. My $0.02. Thanks. -Bob.

I have had two offerings from this person worded exactly as quoted by slugbug1 only with the name of the item changed to match my wtb posts. If you offered to meet, my bet would be a "no show". BUYER BEWARE. Marc

You guys are so paranoid. It's probably a little old lady trying to sell off her recently deceased husbands guns and stocks. The reason the funds are to be sent to Nigeria is she is vacationing there after the funeral.

How can she scam you if you meet in person?

She sets the meeting place. You go there and get robbed at gunpoint by her really big boyfriend.

If y'all would just stick to using PM's and not posting your email address this stuff won't happen. I know it will lessen the buying field, but at least you can get a feel for who you are dealing with from their posts.

David...Is there anyway to block this person's IP address to prevent future postings, but then again I think some say this is an email?
