Do you have trouble shooting fast targets?

I adjust to targets w/o much trouble, ihave several shells loaded up for this kind of target.

My normal Handicap Shell is 1200fps but at some buddy shoots and calcuttas they throw a fast target and on these I get out my 1250fps shells.

But in reality I can adjust my lead on the 1200fps shells.

I have noticed when shooting off a Pat Trap that has the targets set at a 44 degree angle, as I know that is the setting as I witnessed the use of the Pat Trap 3 hole spacer furnished with the NEW PAT TRAP and with the pull cord in the trap house throw a 44 degree angle it did.

But in real live target throwing it HARDLY EVER THREW A HARD ANGLE.

I personally think that the PAT TRAP coasts back from the hard angles when the interuptor is working.

Now this is my observation over last 4 months that this NEW PAT TRAP was installed.

Why don't you just fix the trap?

No problem with fast (or any targets for that matter)... I have these incredibly quick "cat-like" 72 year old reflexes....and I just pounce on 'em. Oh, I miss a few once in awhile, but these misses are mostly caused by irregularities (holes) in my shot patterns. Regards, Ed

As one who works on a lot of Pat Traps, you may not be too far off. About the time you think you won't get a hard angle, BOOM, hard angle target.

ARE YOU COMPLAINING about fewer hard angle targets? LOL

D.L. How fast are the targets you're speaking about? Are you on the thirty yardline?

One reason to miss fast targets is POI is too high.

A properly set 42 MPH, 9 1/2 ft target is the same speed straightaway as it is an extreme left or right. Just what do you refer to as a "fast" target.

I miss targets from irregularities, but it has nothing to do with shot patterns.

Like OLDGOAT says, it must be holes in my 7\8 oz. pattern. But then I'm only 71 so maybe there is still some room (hope)for improvement.. grin---Ross Puls

OWWWEEE: I'm terrified of fast targets, my knees just turn to jello. I have never hit one yet.

Define Fast? We used to crank up our old western trap so fast you had to shoot then call pull. It was alot of fun until everyone figured out to yell slow pull if they missed. Dan

FAST ? I thought there was a set speed they're supposed to be set at. If I start worrying about speed that'll give me one more thing to break my concentration and worry about.I just GO to the Bird.Don't worry about angles, speed,or wind.A miss is a miss what ever the reason.

No I don't. The trouble I have is catching up to them.

All the clubs I shoot at use Pat traps & Canterburys. Every now & then I see an extreme angle on stations 1 or 5, kinda reminds me when I was a catcher & tried to pick a guy of first base. What causes these freek targets. Till I learn to refuse them it makes things interesting.
