I am considering traveling to Florida to shoot part of the Dixie Grand. Have never shot at the Silver Dollar. Would like to hear from anyone who has been to this shoot, what is it like? Do venders attend? etc. Thanks!

    You will not regret it.
Quite a few vendors and always a good time. The shoot is ran very well.

Our weather here is usually great.

But, it can get cool as Zardozforty says. You might start out on an early squad with a jacket shooting 16s, then, by lunch time, be in a T-shirt shooting handicaps.

You'll probably like the Dollar, good clubhouse, food, staff, scorers, etc. Convenient to motels and restaurants in Tarpon Springs/Clearwater/Tampa area.

There will be vendors, Keith Heeg winters here, and there will be a number of others who sell clothes, eyewear, guns, leather or make repairs/mods on guns.

If you like the Dixie, you'll really want to come back for the Southern and the State Shoot.

It is one of my favorite shoots. For me, it may be better than the Southern Grand because it is a little smaller and for the first few days it is shot on one side. It can get cool (50 degrees) and it can be warm (75 degrees). Pack a sweat shirt and several pair of shorts. If the big white birds land between you and the trap house, just keep on shooting.
