Its only about a l/2 inch on my map. LOL. Not sure exactly but would say its somewhere around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. Have fun and Break-em all. Jeff

45 minutes. You can go up 19 to Tarpon Springs and turn left or go uo the Suncoast Freeway(Turnpike going N. and S. Lots of traffic on 19. lots of lights and slower moving. Turnpike is faster as the locals don't seem to like the new pay road. Bulge.

This must be a new turnpike that Bulge is referring to because the Florida Turnpike doesn't go anywhere near Tampa. It's about 60 miles from the Florida Turnpike.

Easy say I am sorry to Bulge. The Suncoast (589) goes to Tampa and is a toll road, actually runs north from Tampa. But Bulge when you go up 19, north, you turn right or East on Tarpon Springs Rd.

BIGDON, the airport is East of the Silver Dollar and 19 is several miles west of the Dollar. I would take the Suncoast to Linebaugh to Race Track to Patterson Rd. There may be a better way but that is what comes to mind. With reasonable traffic that shouldn't take more than 25-30 mins. JRM

perga1 I didn't say that's the way I would go or the way to go. I was just correcting a couple of prior statements that were slightly wrong. Looking forward to being at the Dollar in Jan.

Yo Snyder, how many times are you going to ask the same dumb question?

Double-up on your Geritol and discover MapQuest.

I think it's because your map is smaller than mine!

The Silver Dollar is one of the few reasons I would go to Florida. Last time was Rain, 100% humidity, and 95 degree temps. I thought it was a normal Florida day. :) Maybe I'll luck out and have better weather next time.

smsnyder- Be certain to include several miles on Rt. 19 on your way to Silver Dollar. It is possibly the most interesting highway to drive in the USA.

BIGDON, you are absolutely right it is turn right off 19 if you are heading north. I would have taken him to that Greek restaurant in Tarpon Springs and he could have gotten a terriffic Gyro. I forgot the name of that restaurant but it starts with an H. Bulge.

I used to live in the Town and Country section of Tampa, and the Silver Dollar was in my back yard. P3AT's directions would be what I would take. That means take Memorial Highway to Old Memorial Highway to Hillsborough (where you see Sheldon Rd if you go straight). Turn left and go to Racetrack Rd where you make a right. Go up to Patterson and take a left. There are some nice restaurants along the way.

The "new" veteran's highway toll road is pretty cool, too. If it's during rush hour, take that.
