    I know this is an Off Topic thread for Ts.com, but I thought you might like to take a look at a different type of eye candy…

    FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE..

    THE JOHN WAYNE 100th ANNIVERSARY RUGER LIMITED EDDITION .45 LONG COLT REVOLVRERS…MATCHING SET OF FOUR GUNS..

    <img src=http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/3385873/aview/jw100-2a.jpg>

    I just received the last items to Complete my four gun Ruger John Wayne, Limited Edition, .45 Long Colt Vaqueros Set.

    I have been told that this is the only four gun set in existence, with all matching serial numbers.

    There where 3500 High Polished Blue Guns Produced and Only 1000 of the Stainless Steel

    _________________________________________________________________

    THE CASES:

    I had a custom case made for each pair of the guns. They are constructed of walnut frame with burl wood top. The interior is all French Fitted and has the cutouts for the accessories. You have to see these cases in person, they are really magnificent.

    Each set has two boxes of the Winchester John Wayne .45 Long Colt Commemorative Ammunition.

    The blue set sports a custom set of 24KT Gold Plated Dummy Rounds and the Stainless Set sports a custom set of Silver Plated Dummy Rounds. (By the way, I made the dummy rounds).

    THE HIGH POLISH BLUE SET:

    <img src=http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/3385873/aview/case-7a.jpg>

    THE STAINLESS STEEL SET:

    <img src=http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/3385873/aview/rugerss-5.jpg>
    <img src=http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/3385873/aview/rugerss-5a.jpg>

    THE HOLSTERS:

    To finish off the set I purchase a consecutive numbered pair of the DeSantis John Wayne Limited Edition Holster Rigs. This was a special run of 3500 holster sets to match the number of Blue Vaqueros that where made. I tried to get the matching serial numbers to the gun, but they where already promised to another gun manufacturing company. So I was able to get an extremely low numbered consecutive pair.

    Thanks for looking….

    Very nice, but those guns need to be taken out and shot, not locked away in a case.

    PHILK,

    Sorry, I have to disagree with you on this one. In my opinion, I think that there are certain Firearms that are destine to be Heirlooms. I feel that they should be maintained so that they will be around for future generations to enjoy. Again, that’s just my personnel opinion…These guns are not locked up in a gun safe, but on display in my gunroom, so everyone can enjoy them…

    Now on the other hand, talking about Shoot’n Irons, here are two of my favorites:

    Vern,

    Thanks for the kind comments...I enjoy doing the posting's. Especially when I see that there are so many other members whom seem to enjoy looking at them, also. It keeps me busy being stuck in the house most of the time and I can't get out to shoot any of them (sigh), for right now.(Medical Reasons)

    Thanks again,

    Stu Gabriel (MrGun)

    Thank You. As SASS shooter and a life time fan of John Wayne those are the tops. It's also amazing that his belt and holster set up are so identified with him.

    Get well so you can get back to shooting.

    Don

    Don,

    I know what you mean about the Holster being so identified with him. These Holsters sets are the second sets of John Wayne holsters that where made by DeSantis Company. They made the first John Wayne Holster sets when Colt produced thier John Wayne Colt .45 SAA army pistols in the early 90's. A mint, in the box, one of those rigs goes for $500.00 to $750.00 these days.

    Thanks for the interest,

    Stu Gabriel (MrGun)
