Did any of you old timers like me shoot the Charles Daly single Bbl trap gun.Remember the ribs coming loose on them?

Did any of you shoot the Franchi 530 Auto trap gun with the choke tube held in by two allen screws?

How about the Franchi Combo guns?

I still shoot a Charles Daly 32" single barrel trap gun on occasion and as my back up gun. I have not had any trouble with the rib coming loose. Also shoot a Charlse Daly Diamond Grade Selector 30" O/U that some previous owner had installed thin wall Briley tubes. Great guns.

Jim, that is sooooo sweet. More old-gun porn, please.

I had a suspicion LS heard a WHOOSH when I asked the question.

There are Daly's and then there are DALY's.

I thought the old Charles Daly's were Winchester 101's. Obviously the Rock's gun is no 101. Is there any other name that has been put on more different guns made in more different places in more different qualities than Charles Daly?

Come to think of it I believe I saw a cheap 1911 45 with Charles Daly on it.

Before Miroku there were Italian made Dalys. There were many others, since the company started in the 1800's. Some of them were very high quality.

There are now some inexpensive shotguns carrying the Daly name. They are made in Turkey.

Out of Business earlier this year.

Goatskin: WWwwhhhhoooossshhhhh No, never seen a Chas Daly that high grade.

I think the Daly could be bought new for about $400 is that about right or were they less than that?

There were quite a few of them in day being shot 1960s & 1970s

Gary: I still have a 32" single and a 30" O/U with the Broadway rib. It is an 800W. Yes, the ribs were soft soldered on. I have used the black loctite to fix them.

My ex-father-in-law had a 2005 combo 30"/32". I believe you could get them with a different stock dimensions. They were letters of A thru E.

All nice guns but parts are a little scarce now.

I have a Charles Daly SXS that was made by Beretta for Daly. Daly never did make any guns just had guns made with the name and they marketed them a strange gun seller started in the 1800's I think. The SXS is a G3 Beretta and a great gun for the money.

I had a Franchi 530. It looked to be built like a tank on the outside, but was tin-foil inside. Never could keep it working. Too bad too. I shot races with it like it had eyes.

Looks like Jims Daley is a Prussian made gun.

I seem to remember seeing one similar a long time ago and even got to hold it.
    Beautiful guns.

Yes it is a Prussian gun made by Linder. Sauer MFG also made Dalys in Prussia.

What the crown and happy duck is all about I am still not sure.

It is the deepest relief engraving I have seen that took a lot of time.

Linder was gun maker for the king at one time maybe that can explain it.

My grandson's education when the time comes.
