Years ago, before it was against PC we had a bank in the Denver metro area that gave away guns with the opening of large accounts.

That sounds familiar. I believe it was MANY years ago.

I'm lucky my wife doesn't care how many guns I have

Hide a gun from the wife?

Let me tell you from experience that don't work.

Back in my younger days when I had a lot of disposable income (obviously before kids), I had an open account at the local gunshop. Whatever I liked, I'd take, fill out the 4473, and the owner knew I'd be in on payday. Was picking up a couple of handguns a month and a rifle every month or two.

I had this theory that if I bought 4" and 6" K-frames, and 6" or 6.5" N frames, and didn't have more than one out of the safe at a time, she'd have no clue how many there were.

So smugly I brought home a Walther PPK/L in .22LR (the L stands for aluminium frame) as a companion to my old .32 Nazi PPK.

So I'm wiping it down, and Valerie is eyeing me from across the room. I'm thinking, hey, mission accomplished.

Then she says,"Is that your Nazi PPK or did you get another one?"

Yeah, that was the look I gave her.

She says, "I know how many guns you have. You fiddle with them every night and I can see they are all slightly different. You're not fooling me."

    Oops.

likemybrownings, LOL...(I also like my Brownings!) That's why husband married me. I'd rather have guns than jewelry or clothes. We met on the shooting range........

Brian, my wife doesn't care what I buy, so I'm covered, I too used to belong to the gun of the month, sometimes gun of the week, lately I've talked about buying a few more, she says go for it, then I get thinking I've got enough, but I think I might go get a few more, there only a couple things better than a new gun, and at my age the few things that were better are dwindling

Whenever I leave the house for gunshow or gunshop I always leave with a gun case. Carrying the same case back no questions are asked.

A friend got married. He told his new wife that every time he bought a new gun he would buy her a diamond. A few months later he sold a gun and then asked here what diamond she was selling. True story. She told me about it years later. He is gone now and she has all the guns.
