Dewey Rod vs. Tipton Rod

    Both good but I prefer the Tipton because it stays straight no matter what. The Tipton will break if you patch tight and don't start carefully. Can't go too far wrong with either. I use mostly 17 and 20 cal so the Tipton is a bit whippy.

    For a shotgun, I'd go brass. For a rifle I'd go carbon fiber. My tiptons have served me well with my rifles. I use uncoated stainless steel for shotgun.

    Dewey is good, and the price tag says so. I have Tipton, almost not long enough but they work.
