...I plan to try to help knock off a couple Republicans I think are part of the problem, too.

It was the Tea Party types who drove Arlen Specter out of the Republican party, depriving Obama of a key future compromise voter in the Senate.

It was the T/P folks who raised cain about Bush's selection of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court...causing him to withdraw her name, and starting him down the path that led to John Roberts, Samuel Alito, and the first crystal-clear Supreme Court affirmation of the individual right to bear arms this nation has ever seen.

Keep it going, folks. If we do nothing more than just clear the trash out of our "own" (sic) party, we will have done a great thing, and made Obama's job that much harder.

He starts being a lame duck in November...pass it on.

You know what is sad about the politics and political process in this country, is that both parties don't try to win elections based on their merits and what they do right for the country. They get elected, go to Washington, perform to minimum standards at best or do nothing and hope for and focus on each other's failures. No wonder this country is in the shape its in.

Kudos on the posts above by buzz-gun, bulge and b12

Wrong, 123. You do some research. Dums can be blamed for the entire financial collapse,,all of it.

Bush had repeated concerns of predatory lending practices and deregulation.

"According to an article by Kathleen Day in the Oct. 8, 2003, Washington Post, Frank opposed giving the Bush administration the right to approve or disapprove business activities that “could pose risk to the taxpayers.” He told the Post he worried the Treasury Department “would sacrifice activities that are good for consumers in the name of lowering the companies’ market risks.”

Just a month before, Frank had aggressively thwarted reform efforts by the Bush administration. He told The New York Times on Sept. 11, 2003, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s problems were “exaggerated,” a gross miscalculation some five years later with costs estimated to be in the hundreds of billions."

123,,your people caused it, and your people appoligized for it....

"Robert Rubin, former exec at Citigroup, apologizes over financial crisis"

"Robert Rubin takes beating on crisis"

"WASHINGTON — Robert Rubin, the former financial superstar once lionized for his global crisis-fighting prowess, was scolded Thursday over the mortgage-securities disaster at Citigroup when he was a top executive there. His claim he didn't know of the risks piling up drew a sharp retort.

"You can't have it both ways: You either were pulling the levers or asleep at the switch," the head of the panel investigating the roots of the financial crisis told Rubin at a hearing.

Rubin expressed regret. Yet he insisted he didn't know until late in the game, when the subprime-mortgage crisis erupted in September 2007, about the $43 billion in high-risk mortgage securities on Citigroup's books.

But Phil Angelides, chairman of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, told Rubin that as head of the executive committee of Citigroup's board, "You were not a garden-variety board member. ... I'm not so sure apologies are as important as assessment of responsibility."

The public scolding of Rubin marked another chapter in his fall from grace."

"After leading Wall Street powerhouse Goldman Sachs, Rubin served as Treasury secretary in the Clinton administration.

Critics have said Rubin, with his vast experience, should have picked up on the warning signs of the crisis and taken a more active role in preventing Citigroup's debacle.

"All of us in the industry failed to see the potential for this serious crisis," he told the congressionally chartered panel Thursday. "We all bear responsibility for not recognizing this, and I deeply regret that."

Angelides said of Rubin and former Citigroup CEO Charles Prince, who resigned at the height of the turmoil in November 2007: "The two of you in charge of this organization did not seem to have a grip on what was happening."

Again,,, "After leading Wall Street powerhouse Goldman Sachs, Rubin served as Treasury secretary in the Clinton administration."

123,,Rubin screwed the country, slick willie screwed the country, Barney Frank screwed the country,,your 'I feel your pain' liberal socialists screwed the country..

123,,your people have spent billions for decades. Viet Nam war,,57,000 dead Americans, all of it.

"Just the facts on the Fiscal Year End: The 2009 fiscal year for the federal government ended 2 days ago. The deficit through the first 11 months was $1.4 trillion, 43 cents of every dollar spent was borrowed, and the national debt is now $11.77 trillion which is a 35% increase since Democrats took control of Congress in 2006. More debt has been accumulated in those 33 months than in the entire period of the nation's history from 1789 to 1989. You can draw your own conclusions, they are pretty obvious. This is unsustainable." John Campbell, Congressman - California

The financial picture a full year later is even more bleak. Your people caused it, 123.

Both parties are to blame for the current crisis that America is in. I merely pointed out the wrongs in the video. Democrats have contributed as well as republicans. I'm willing to accept the good and bad of both parties. On this site everybody has blinders on to the fact that these problems were added to by republicans. Own up to wrong doing from both sides and then and only then can the country move in the right direction. Good luck Chuck Hrosik

Wow, Chuck. Your latest post is in stark contrast to your first and second.

"Our deficit came from Bush. The AIG bailout was Bush. Tarp Bush. Billions and billions to find weapons of mass destruction. Can't blame the Dems for any of it". "It's all fact. Do some research".

    Anyway, good shooting.

As I stated I was only pointing out the discrepencies in the video clip. I really appreciate the good luck. It would be refreshing for once if some people accepted that the republicans are just as much to blame as the democrats. Your post were interisting Paladin. To blame the dems for Vietnam is a far stretch and if Bush knew in 2003 that we were heading in this direction he had plenty of time to change since he had majority power for 3 more years. This is the stuff I'm talking about. Acceptance makes moving forward easier. I wish everybody good luck Chuck Hrosik

I don't believe "just as much to blame" is a fair description in most cases. With most controversial national political decisions, one party usually deserves more credit or blame than the other.

History is not kind to the liberal run V.N. war, and recent history is not kind to liberals regarding "predatory lending practices and deregulation" and the resultant financial collapse. Just ask Barney Frank and Robert Rubin. Should Bush have been more persistent to correct misguided liberal judgment, yes.

Regarding the national debt,,liberals have zero credibility, none.
