A vote for Nader is a wasted vote. At this point, it's better to make a decision than to make a statement that ultimately has no effect on the outcome of the process.

Funny how they were all perfectly fine with "disenfranchising" two states of democratic voters, right up until Hillary figured out she didn't have a slam dunk win. Now they want to count them or have a "do-over." Where was the outrage over ignored votes prior to super Tuesday?

Ya just can't make stuff like this up, Hollywierd writers couldn't be funnier or sadder.

Will someone explain to an old country boy how state governments, such as MI and FL can be expected to do what an unelected, head of a NGO (non government organization)is attempting to mandate? Is it not true that the Demoncratic (sic) Natl' Party is a non government organization?

I honestly think all our choices this year are terrible. I will hold my nose and vote for my Party's choice. (old member of the gun culture, semi retired Firearms Instructor, Shooting Coach and Trainer of Lethal and Non Lethal force for Armed Professionals). (Also on Veteran's Administration list for bennies and medical provider)

McCain says we will be at war until my children's children's children are drafted. This means a permanent MAJOR money drain and recession, if not depression, not forgetting the flower of our youth that has and will die in this war. (really bad) On top of this, he will "cross the aisle" and pass legislation approved by Demoncrats (very bad) In addition, he is even older than I, and his choice of Vice President may well be President before his term is up. (maybe not so bad)

Obama says he will bring everybody home, beef up VA (good, so far), but he is a very liberal person that will not enforce and defend the Constitution (not good)

The Clintons cannot be believed regardless of what they say other than slips about socialist agendas.

A vote for the Independent Party is indeed a wasted vote.

Sometimes I think the light at the end of the tunnel is an approaching TRAIN.

"And Republicans have family values, until they go to the public men's room."

While it's true that one Republican, Senator Larry Craig, R-Idaho, was playing footsies with a cop in a public men's room, it is also true that James McGreevey, the former New Jersey Governor, was one Democrat that put his gay lover on New Jersey's public payroll making in excess of $100k a year. Forced to resign in disgrace, McGreevey left the Governor's office and his buddies/buddy's) behind about the same time. So to speak...

McGreevey apparently forgot he had a wife and two daughters. He also apparently forgot he was gay when he married the former Mrs. McGreevey. Talk about warped family values.

Sadly, there are far to many rotters on both sides of the aisle to get sanctimonious about party affiliation. To the extent the collective 'we' make editorial comments about personal improprieties, it should probably be directed at the specific inappropriate behavior and consequenses.

Party affiliation is largely irrelevant with one glaring exception. One party has a consistent history of embracing, even celebrating, the morally ignoble behavior of its members. The other party does not.

    flincher100:

My state Rep is a Republican. He is a Marine Corp veteran of Desert Storm and currently serves in the Marine Reserves. His Reserve unit was recently called up. They shipped out to Iraq about a month ago. The Representatives of several adjacent legislative districts will keep office hours in his local office to handle constituent service issues for residents of the district. Pretty impressive imho.

It doesn't exactly square with your sweeping generalization, '... and have someone else's kids die for them."

    Respectfully yours,

    sissy

"They took the king's coin, now they must do the king's bidding." A voolunteer soldiers lament that goes back a few centuries. There is no involuntary conscription in the USA, so nobody is forced to serve, fight, or die for anyone else.

At least McCain knows first hand what is at risk...

McCain's Marine son returns from Iraq
    CNN ^ | Feb. 13, 2008 | CNN's Dana Bash and Deirdre Walsh

    **EXCERPT**

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who almost always refuses to speak on the campaign trail about his son serving in the military, got a rousing reception Wednesday when he told a private gathering of House Republican congressman that his son Jimmy — whose Marine unit had been deployed to Iraq — had arrived home from safely.

Bill Clinton set the standard while he was in office and got by with it. No one should be surprised that others choose to follow his lead.
