Here is the Polosi speech before the vote today. Any wonder it didn't pass? Can't the Democrats ever do anything for the Country without putting them their political futures first? This woman and her Party are f***ing this Country right down the drain.

And who opposed regulating Frank Raines',(economic advisor to Obama,) crooked empire? It wasn't Bill Clinton and the Republicans!

Something Pelosi should try and remember, 9/11/2001.

Something many democrats seem to forget.

Typical of Pelosi. While the vote was going on today, she was bad mouthing Republicans.

First rule of House leadership - Do not "dis" the opposition while you still need their votes. Wait until the deal is finalized before opening your fat yap.

I am thinking that they really don't need any Republican votes to pass this as the Dems are in the majority. They just don't want to go down in history as having passed this without it being "bipartisan" seeing as the calls are running 100 to 1 against it.

100 Dems voted against the bill. Pelosi only need a switch of 10 of those to pass it. Where is her leadership. Where is Obama's

From John McCain and it is 100% right!

"From the minute John McCain suspended his campaign and arrived in Washington to address this crisis, he was attacked by the Democratic leadership: Senators Obama and Reid, Speaker Pelosi and others. Their partisan attacks were an effort to gain political advantage during a national economic crisis. By doing so, they put at risk the homes, livelihoods and savings of millions of American families.

“Barack Obama failed to lead, phoned it in, attacked John McCain, and refused to even say if he supported the final bill.

“Just before the vote, when the outcome was still in doubt, Speaker Pelosi gave a strongly worded partisan speech and poisoned the outcome.

“This bill failed because Barack Obama and the Democrats put politics ahead of country.” — McCain-Palin senior policy adviser Doug Holtz-Eakin"

Watch Pelosi on the tape. And we wonder why our politics are so partisan. If I were a republican in congress, I'd kick in the #^&$. How did we get to this point. Disgusting. Both parties are to blame, but neither will admit it. We need a third party.

It just goes to show that some of the Dems realize just how bad this deal really is. Pelosi couldn't even corral enough Dems to pass. She has a clear majority in the house.

This bill smelled badly from the start.

Most people understand, and don't want the socialization of the market place.

Both Dem and Repub congressmen are saying their constituants are against the bail out, and thus cannot vote for it. Maybe the American people aren't afraid to speak.

Just watched the 6:00 news, and they had a short clip of Pelosi's antics. She should be crucified for what she pulled. They barely mentioned it. Hell, the Dems could only get 60% to vote for it, but they blame the Repubs for not helping enough to pass it. What the hell was she thinking.

Okay Speaker Pelosi, you say the Republicans and Bush administration are responsible for the situation we are in. Appoint an independent investigator and let's see where it leads. My bet is on your Democrat buddies who were promoting making loans to those who were not in a position to pay. Senators and Congressmen who blocked reform, the housing bill that incorporated the relaxed requiremnets in 1995 (Community Reinvestment Act), the Democrats who were running Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and running off with huge pay/bonuses based on falsified records are the main culprits. Go ahead, Pelosi get the investigation underway. Talk is cheap, action by the Pelosi House non-existent.

McCain was the big losser today. He went riding off on a white horse to pass the bill and taking credit before it passed! He changed his tune and tried to blame the Democart later in the day! He was let down by his own party? If you going to blame someone, be men an blame McCain and the Reps. A much larger percentage of Democats voted for the bill than Republicans, and it was something being asked for by a Republican President!!
