delron ribs-who?

    i have a small project going on and need an economical but good looking black addon rib--i've done the wood but cant seem to get the taper right without warping--

    i want @ receiver height of 1/4" tapered down to muzzle end 1/8" -

    or 3/8in tapered down to 1/4" at muzzle

    - rib surface width is 1/4" -

    need 26in length and 28in length pieces

    who does this delron rib work that wud want this lil project?
    heck, i dont even know what delron is???

    thanks- i will call them, but looking at their site-those ribs all look "taller" and are vented-- i'm kind of thinking a solid piece of delron

    It's Delrin. Very common material.

    Click the link, choose your size and have somebody carefully cut it to your template using a band saw.

    If the rib is very high, the wind could be a problem with a solid rib. It is one of the reasons they are made like they are.

    I make my own ribs from delrin. The way I did it was bought the strips pre-cut to my specs (.25" X.4" X 30")(~$50 for 6 strips) and then sanded the tapers and finished with indian ink. Mounted with double back tape.You will need a form to cut the taper and sand down to the form but this isn't hard. Joe

    I had 2 ribs done one not so good and one perfect for point of impact and it really looked great,the best man to do this is Tom Wilkenson. Dan Drainer

    I think a guy named Jerry White or something like that from out west did them,he made me a full length rib for a k-80 a while back. I'm thinking it was something like fort collins Colorado maybe, perhaps someone else will remember him.
