1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

If a southpaw wanted to make a left hand defense 870, that left hand U notch carrier would be a good upgrade. They're not easy to find in LH.

For those who do not know it, the purpose of the u-notch is to prevent tying up the gun should a shell jump the latch. With the notchless lifter, the gun is tied up and the pins will have to be driven out to remove the trigger assembly to clear it. The notched lifter has a tab formed by the u-notch. It's purpose is to distort under brute force (racking the action) so the gun can be cleared without disassembly. It was originally a feature on law enforcement 870s.

(This is also a major difference between the 870 and Mossberg 500/590. Their carrier tucks up under the bolt, so if a shell jumps the latch it simply falls to the ground.)
