James "Duke" Naylor, age 75, died today from complications of cancer.

Duke had amassed 220,000 registered targets and was the state's handicap champion 3 times.

Duke was a great storyteller and good friend to all. He will be missed!

He was a very nice man. He was also one excellent shooter. My condolences.

Oh my such sad news. I loved Duke and had the chance to shoot with him a couple times at Millington. He didn't know me hardly at all, but that didn't stop him from giving me a couple sets of the Rio Tie-Dyed blinders I had been looking for. I will certainly say an extra prayer for his family tonight. I am honored to have known him, even though brief.

Our thoughts and prayers to him and his family. He was a good guy and will be missed. Last time I saw him, he didn't say a word about being ill.

    Curt,

Shot with Duke more years than I can remember. On days when he was hot, you had to watch out for that Remington-3200, as it was deadly. GOD it's not good to be at this age and watch your longtime friends starting to make the final journey........Duke...keep position 4 open for me on your squad...............Rick Johnson

    Rick,

You're right about the age thing.

We have less summers ahead of us than behind us!!
