Del-Tone/Luth Gun Range will hold a Winter Jackpot/Lewis Class Shoot this Sunday, March 25th starting at 10:00 AM. The cost of the 50 rock event, (25 16yd targets + 25 handicap targets) is $18.00 with $4.00 of each entry going into the Lewis Class pot. Handicap yardage is determined from your 16yd score plus 2. No shooter can shoot closer then the 20 yard line. Packages of bratwurst, a variety of flavors, will be given away for each Class Winner and the first five 25 straights!!

This week an added $100 for a 50 straight!!! Ties divide!!

(New Jimmy Bowen rule will go into effect this week)

As always at the Del-Tone/Luth Gun Range, Free Coffee, Donuts and Lunch, will be available for the shooters of the event inside the George Victor Building!!!!!

    Hope to see ya Sunday!!

New Jimmy Bowen Rule: Rule #13

If a shooter flinches so bad that he or she cannot pull the trigger more then one time per round, the second third and forth times will be a lost target!!

It pained me enough to hand over that crisp $100 bill to my friend Jimmy Bowen, but not half as much as watching him call for all those targets and not even shoot.

    Ahhhh, you bastard!!

Where did you come up with this Rule #13 crap?????

Those were not FLINCHES.....they were SLOW PULLS. And, there weren't any more than 10 per round. The ATA allows me that many.....slow pulls that is.

Its OK for you to send your "pets", a herd of 20 deer, to mosey around right in front of the trap we're shooting on but its not OK for me to pick the targets I want. WTH???

I have just one thing to say.....SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!

Hey, whats for lunch?? Thats whats really important.

See ya Sunday. I'd say "with bells on" but then the deer would be standing right in front of me.

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Jimmy, you make me smile on a rainy day!!!

Just a little FYI for ya, the heard has grown by 5 so plenty of action will be taking place in front of the traps this week. I'm also thinking of buying some Deer Scent to spread around the trap line when you're squad is called so maybe I can get some footage for "When Wild Animals Attack". I'm just say'n!!!

ATA rules allow 2 FTF per subevent of 25 and this is clearly a 25 bird subevent. According to Ray, there is only 1 set of rules for trapshooting. If you aren't going to follow ATA rules, I would expect that he would refuse to shoot on Sunday. Maybe that is your objective?? I don't expect that he would stand up on Del Tone road and picket the shoot carrying an appropriate 4'x8' sign but as strongly as he feels about the rules, I wouldn't be surprised if he does!

Stand your ground Jeff. That Damn Jimmy has been bending the rules during summer league for long enough. We've started to call him Jimmy Handy. Now we aren't sure if it's him flinching or his high priced single barrel just misfiring but enough is enough. You may have to get a score board or something to keep score on so Jimmy knows when he's had two Failure to Fires. You know, higher math escapes poor Jimmy so keeping track for him is a must.

    Good Luck Jeff.

Different week same ending. Jimmy Bowen shows up late, all sleepy eyed and a smile of a cat that just ate the cannery. He puts his gun together and goes out in that cool northern breeze and breaks a 48 to win the entire shoot. Ray Steffenson made it interesting at the end but could only tie Jimmy and then lost the tie breaker. Nice shooting guys!!!!

To answer the big question, my friend only flinched two or three times this weekend, so I couldn’t give him too hard of a time.

    Class A

    Jimmy Bowen - 48

    Ray Steffenson – 48

    Class B

    Joe Opitz - 44

    Ray Steffenson - 44

    Class C

    Jon Schreiner - 40

    Troy “Smoooooth” Smith – 40

    Class D

    Gary Borchardt – 35

    Mike Herald - 35

Tie Breaker – Handicap Score then Long Run from the back

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a great day of shooting!!!

    Jeff

It's a safe bet that Semi Ray will have a different gun next week. I remember once watching when he broke 100 in doubles. Saw him the next week and asked about the gun he used.

    "Aw, I sold it."

Lit, I saw Ray win a handicap event at Mpls Gun club with a 31 Rem and the gun was sold that same day.

In Ray's case it IS the indian and not the arrow.
