This picture is from the Porterfield Ranch in Texas. Apparently semen from this buck goes for $200,000+ per.

It's a real Texas deer. The people who emailed the pictures to me say the buck is very famous in the area, viewed by many people. They nickname it 'El Chingon'....no idea what that means.

"El Chingon" means "The Big Shot" or "The Boss".

Actually...El Chingon is spanish slang for The Big F**ker. It is derived from the verb (vulgar) chingar.

Here are some pictures of a couple of rams fighting. These were take in the city limits at the Game, Fish & Parks Fish Hatchery just east of Canyon Lake Park.

Not sure if it's global warming, but things are really differnt out here. I have BOTH a 5 point (10 point Eastern Count) muley feeding in my yard at the apple trees right next to a 4 and 5 point white tails.

I should just drop a big brick on one of them some evening. I have 3-4 flocks of turkeys on my front step making a mess, and I damned near hit a fox last night...driving up to the house. I live IN the city too. Had a mountain lion kill a cat or two down the street last year, and two years ago a moose ran through my yard and bedded down across the street at the neighbors. The City killed the moose the next day at a Montessori school about a mile from here - dumb!

These rams, which I have never seen except maybe one in 10 years in the Black Hills hunting, are right next to houses, a dog run, the Catholic Church and all sorts of traffic on 44.
