The Decorah, Iowa female bald eagle laid her 1st egg late this afternoon at 5:33. Decorah is iced down from Sundays rain & cold. You can watch these amazing birds 24-7 on this site. Their nest is at the Decorah fish hatchery. The pictures at night are from the infrared cam & are full color during the day with audio. Very cool.

Meanwhile, some cretin shot a bald eagle here in Oregon. The bird has survived, but has wing damage from shotgun pellets. Whether it will fly again remains to be seen.

Brian, I don't know what Oregon has, but the University of Minnesota has a raptor center that has done remarkable things with raptors and places them back into the wild.

Hmmm...The Book of Revelations makes no mention of the University of Minnesota.

You really meant "raptor", right? ;-)

    Sorry, couldn't resist...

We have a good bird and raptor center here too. It's getting the best of care.
