Just a simple thanks to the greatest generation ever and the many many sacrifices you incurred so we may all be free. Also, a very big thank you to ALL our military past and present. We appreciate you so very much!

Hats off to all those soldiers on that great day in our history. Parkerguy said it all when he called them the greatest generation. It's hard to believe it's been so long ago. Bless them all. Dan

Obama & the French President did not invite Queen Elizabeth; in my opinion they should have included her since she's forgotten more about D-Day than both those two ever knew. The British took alot of casulties also. We should say a prayer and be eternally greatful that these brave young men fought in this battle to liberate France from the socialist, Adolph Hitler. Hitler was a lot of things, but Socialist wasn't one of them. He was as far away from a Socialist as one can get.

When I was growing up, my next door neighbor was one of the men that went ashore on D-Day. Listening to him describe the day was simply amazing. I will never forget how he described running up on the beach while men on both sides of him were shot dead. Hearing bullets whiz past his head as he kept running.
The term "Greatest Generation" is well deserved. There will never be another like them.

How many of you had a tear or two when they had the 21 gun salute and played taps. I know I do every time I hear it.

The queen was one of the boots on the ground there. What a snub...

The History channel is having a Normandy landing marathon today. Well worth watching in my opinion. I was to young for WW II, but had the privilege of being in Korea. I served with several Vets from WW II then. Great men and leaders. BRGII

I watched "Saving Private Ryan" again last night as a commemoration. What an injustice that it lost the Oscar to that piece of drivel "Shakespeare in Love".
