Just bought a 2 barrel Model 12 set up and one has a Cutts choke on it. Does the plastic wads start to open in the compensator? I would like to shoot it but I've never been around one before. This probably sound like a dumb question but I'd hate to hurt the gun. Your input would help. Thanks, Joe

Nothing hits your squad mates' ears like a Cutts.

I also have several Mod. 12's with Cutts, that I enjoy for sporting clays from time to time, and have zero problems with plastic.

BTW ear protection is required anyway.

Huh? sorry, but that post made my morning.

Thank you all for input!! I'll take it out for some rounds of trap and skeet today.[those skeet guys like to laugh at me] but I can shuck a Model 12 better than shoot a OU and it's all for fun. Thanks again everyone. Joe

I think I saw it in the Bible that a "real skeet" gun must have a Cutts on it!

I shoot skeet with an 870 all the time and I don't think a pump is any handicap for skeet shooting. You have plenty of time on the doubles.

Now in Sporting clays, where the doubles are both going away, then it is a handicap, but a good quick first shot will fix that too.

They still sell them in the Brownells catalog and I would think any good gunsmith could install one

Kolar has their own version which they install

I have had zero problems with plastic wads and cutts

    regards from Iowa

Cutts work well with plastic wads. If you had a power pac you would have a problem as wads will get caught inside of them

During the seventies, there was a "Buckshot Powell" screw tube in for the Cutts that blocked it out- to quiet it down. It was available from gunsmiths in Seattle, One of them borrowed mine once to copy it. I do not have it any more. I may know where it is.
