Only criminals use guns badly, correct?

Well, Mr. Lanza had no criminal record whatsoever. He was not a criminal until Friday.
James Holmes, the theatre shooter, no criminal record whatsoever. He was not a criminal until 12:38 am July 20th, 2012, the time of the first shot.

People, one of the things on the list of causes in this incident was "access" to assault weapons.

Lanza had four guns with him on his person at the time of this tragedy; three handguns and one bushmaster 223 assault rifle with high capacity magazines. However, he only used one weapon. Yes, the one that was most deadly in the shortest period of time.

Would this incident have been as deadly without the assault rifle? I don't think so. The velocity of the rounds in the rifle is double that of the handguns and the magazine capacity is also double. This almost certainly enhanced his ability to cut through the lock mechanisms like butter. You know what happened from there....

I do not understand something, and I kind of think we are getting played for a political agenda. I was home and watched the whole thing on live TV. In the first statements made by oficials, they said they found an "assault style rifle" in the car, and found the shooter dead with two pistols still with him. The next day All I hear is the "assault rifle" did the damage. Today the shooter is being coddled like a victim, and the masses are being led to hate the rifle, to hate the NRA and to hate gun owners. Some talking puke on the TV today said that "gun owners are shameless and will always put their insane agenda above every innocent, normal person in America".

I think we were manipulated by a spin on the travon martin deal, and I think that this tragedy is being skillfully twisted to divide and conquer.

BTW, as someone who has lost a child (actually a step child) and has 6 grandkids, I still broke down in tears as I watched the greiving people interviewed on TV.

"I believe in gun control." Adolph Hitler & Joseph Stalin. The 2nd Amendment was put there for a reason; i.e., the reason was to protect against tyranny of government and keeping the people "free". BT100dc

The second amendment is 18th century language in a 21st century world.

Had someone walked into a school and slaughtered six year olds with an assault rifle on December 14th, 1791; you'd be a god damn fool to think that they would have passed the second amendment in it's current form on December 15th, 1791.

No sir, you are the fool to believe that the men and women who built this country didn't have evil people among them. They also did not believe that the government was their savior. The Government was supposed to be a servant. Didn't they teach history where you were educated? Have you ever heard of the Magna Carta? At one time this country understood GOD given rights and took care of things like this with speed and finality. They were unwilling to be slaves in their own communities.

I lived two years in the oak cliff section of Dalls Texas. IN THE CRAP! I did it out of my pocket, no one paid me. I feed poor kids and worked with family violence. I put my life on the line. I got bullets shot through my house. I was jumped and sucker punched. I got the crap knocked out of me once. I rescued broken 4 year olds who were bleeding from their rectums. I got 12 year olds taken away from their mother because mom was pimping them for drug money. I took beat up young women to safehouses. I raised the money, set up the program and feed 900 kids whose government subsidized parents would rather spend the money on dope. It would make you sick and break your heart at the same time.

The founding fathers would not have allowed it to continue in their settlement. Godless socialism not only allowed it but subsidized it until now it is 1/2 of the population. And the fools all line up to blame a make and model of gun. I hope you will not have to see your loved ones die in a gun free zone.

Don't waste your time on 548, Leo.

He can't read let alone comprehend common sense. Nor have the capability of searching out the TRUTH.

He is obviously one who has gone to the government school and accepted their indoctrination.

He has also forgotten that the government he puts his faith in, murdered more children in Waco TX then this spoiled rich kid did in CT. and the other "rich kids" in the other mass shootings.

And that same government used a FBI sniper to murder a baby in the caring arms of its mother, along with the mother.

Timberland I think you are wrong- they shot the mother but not the baby. Regardless I agree Janet Reno was the worst person in the world to be making those decisions

They should have run an APC or two through the side of that Waco compoud and liberated those women and children who had shot and killed no one as well as there should have been some rules of engagement that defined what and who the bad guys were if there were any in the mountain thing

Having said that- both of those situations involved people shooting at federal agents---

So how does selling an AR platform gun to someone without any type of check relate to the shooting and killing of federal agents?

Unless you are saying you want criminals to have better guns?

    Regards from Iowa

If Obo and his co-horts have their way, the criminal/Feds will be safer.

As for Randy Weaver, two wrongs don't make a right, but the Feds set him up for the fall!! He refused to become a "informant" for them and THEY didn't like being told NO, And we all see the result!!!

Yea the Randy Weaver saga-- proving " a quarter of an inch more does matter"

I believe he is in Idaho now- he came back to Iowa but was awarded like 2 or 3 million in a settlement before a lawsuit against the federal government and eithe went to the hills of Idaho or Montana

    Regards from Iowa

"The second amendment is 18th century language in a 21st century world."

Stupider words have never been spoken. How about this for more stupidity:

The first amendment is 18th century language in a 21st century world.

The US Constitution is 18th century language in a 21st century world.

The Bill of Rights is 18th century language in a 21st century world.

The Declaration of Independence is 18th century language in a 21st century world.

Hmm...maybe we need to "translate" the Constitution into "American," like H.L. Mencken did with the Declaration of Independence?
