About every 5 shots or so I must move my TS shell catcher ahead on my 1100 or the shells will fall out on the ground. If I move it too far forward, the empty shell gets hung up backwards in the gun. Frustrating!!

if it is a metal one I would put electric tape on it on the side towards the gun. I just had to buy another one for my 1100 & 11-87 last one only lasted 30+ years, Great Product

I have put double sided tape between the shell catcher and the receiver. Holds things in place very well.

I use double sided tape on my SX-1. Change tape once a year.

Dick, it won't always make it 5 shots. There is little room for wiggle. It either drops them if it too far back or leaves them backwards in the receiver if too far forward. It has to be just right for it to work properly and it moves a tad with each shot.

A piece of carpet tape on the back will suffice.

Tripod.....Take the extractor hook out of the bolt and the fired shell will blow back and lay in the action. Turn the gun upside down and roll the empty into your other hand. Works every time....Don't need any clip. Tom B

Have others tried what 'TomB' is suggesting?

Try the Birchwood Casey Save-It Shell catcher. It just works....for me anyway.

I had the same problem with my TS Shell catcher and my Remington 1100, except that the shell catcher would ride back and eventually bind the bolt. If I recall correctly, I had to remove the barrel from the gun to release the tension and then I could release the bolt (carefully).

After I figured out what was happening, I conducted a "shell catcher check" whenever I changed stations on the trap field. Often, I would have to slide the shell catcher back in place.

Perhaps the "tape fixes" mentioned earlier will be sufficient to solve your problem.
