    1. “Shoot the target where it’s at.” Could this possibly mean, “do not shoot the target where it‘s not, (a problem with which I am well familiar.)

    2. “Stay within yourself.” I assume this means, “do not stay without yourself.” If so, then it’s good advice.

    3. “I want my gun to shoot where I’m looking.” Actually, I would rather my gun shot where the guy on my right is looking because he usually out shoots me.

    Any more great advice?

It is seldom the jerk of the trigger, but rather the jerk who pulls (or releases) the trigger.

It is not that they are hard to hit, just way too easy to miss!

Doubles...twice the misses in half the time, for two times the money.

A common one years ago was, If I dust it with 8s I would have broke it with 71/2s.

    Could be true???

If dropping cases of targets is the only way you can break targets, you need a new passion.

Maybe you don't have enough "athleticism".
    I don't have "musicality".
At least people don't have to describe us as "clean" and "articulate" like Biden did about OB a while back.

    Haux,

I think that line came from the movie "Evil Roy Slade", one of the absolutely funniest ever! For a long time I thought I was the only person who ever saw the movie.

Don, That's not where I heard it, but you may be right.

How about our own TS.Com's Shootlow. He used to say that a lot when he lived up here in God's country.

I suppose now that he lives in Kansas, he is probably saying, "Watch where you step, those cowpies are pretty big" or something like that........lol

"Shoot low boys, they're riding Shetland ponies!!!" was/is the title of a book written by the(now deceased) comedian/syndicated columnist, Lewis Grizzard. A very funny man who was, as I recall,a native of the State of Georgia. At least he told a lot of jokes that referenced that state. I have no idea if it (the quote) was his originally or not. He may have "borrowed" it from someone/somewhere else. Anyway, I have the book so I know that he used it, whatever the origin may be.

One of the best ever was heard from shooter Paul Shaw from Ontario at the Grand last year, When Chris Vendel ask him why he missed the target he replied..."BY THE TIME I GOT IN FRONT OF THAT TARGET MY GUN WAS EMPTY". Only Paul!
