It wouldn't cost you anything if you won all the events.

I heard a good one today. One of the officers of the club I shoot said he asked Richie Sharp if he was going to the Grand this year and Richie replied, "Nah." When Tony pressed him as to his reasoning why, Richie replied, "cuz in the old days it cost you a grand to go to the Grand... now it costs you four."

    Lol...

(the truth is, its more like 5k for the full 11 days.)

It cost me around $4,500 to attend back in 1994 at Vandalia. I shudder to think of the cost today!!

I just added all the cost of your target fees. It looks to be $2,668. I think i added it all up correctly. I hope i didnt miss anything. Lets just say give or take 50 dollars. This doesnt include your lodging, food, transportation, shells, and all the good things you will buy while you are there.

Yes, but Karla's assessment would have to include the winnings...most of us don't have those....so..look upon the Grand as a vacation, and an adventure,k doing something you love. Shooting competitive trap at the biggest and best trapshoot in the world. And, that, is "priceless"

I was standing behind Britt Robinson in the cashier's line at the Grand several years ago. He wrote a check for over seven thousand, playing everything.

He won it back in the first handicap.

If you shoot all 23 events and play every option offered you'll spend $3363. You'll also need to add in the cost of at least 10 cases/2500 shells.

I just wonder if there were zero dollars to be won in any way, shape or form what the effect would be on attendence at any trap shoot.

You don't have to shoot the whole thing, pick and choose the events to fit your budget and comfort level.
