To avoid probate---set up accounts as Transfer on Death, plan on dying on a non death tax state-If you die in NY and have an estate over one million, get ready to kiss a lot of that money and or assets good by.Wills usually cost between $500. to $1500. if you decide on setting up a trust. Also, if you are a military retiree--a JAG unit can prepare one for free.

Our wills cost about $250. So, when the Obama Death Panels tell us when to die, we're prepared.

Easiest way is a pour over will to a living trust. Unless you have a more complicated estate. If you don't have a will the State you reside in will be happy write one for you when you are dead, it's called dying "Intestate". Go talk to an attorney now to avoid your family having to go after you death.
