Cool thing I saw in Italian museum

    I was in Italy last week and at the Doge's Palace in Venice they have the old armory with weapons, armor, swords, etc. from the 1500s.

    These guns were made in Brescia around 1514 and I thought the leaf-hammer springs looked kind of familiar!

    Did you see the Tank from WW2 with 5 reverse Gears ? It also has one forward gear in case of attack from the back. LOL, Jeff

    Wind up guns. Many were made by watchmakers.

    Those springs seem to have lasted almost 500 yrs.....Someone must have forgot to tell them they need replaced every year.
