    YOUR AMMUNITION MAY BE BANNED!

It's official, the public hearing for S.B. 603 and 607 is Monday March 17th in LOB Room 2C. The hearing begins at 12pm, but the signup to speak is at 9am sharp. Many other bills will be discussed in this hearing. If you plan to speak, please bring 55 copies of your testimony. Speaking time is limited to 3 minutes. If you would like assistance with preparing your testimony, please e-mail Steve at steve@ctsas.info

S.603 contains language requiring the DISPOSAL of ammunition that is not microstamp coded by Jan. 1, 2012! Ammo manufacturers would be unable to ship or sell non-coded ammunition by 2010! - essentially STOPPING AMMUNITION SALES!

S.607 requires pistols to be equipped with microstamp technology, and according to NRA, will BAN the private transfer of LONG GUNS between individuals!

Yeah - and the end of all practical gun ownership in the state.

The manufacturers will testify that not only does ammo microstamping not work,
it is cost prohibitive and in some cases impossible to do. The manufacurers will testify that they simply will not comply with this, should it become law,
and therefore, will not ship or sell any ammo in the state. No one will be able to buy ammo as of Jan 1, 2010 and individual citizens must DISPOSE of their non coded ammo by Jan 1, 2012.

That means, all the CT gun shops will go out of business; all of CT's ranges and fish and game clubs will close and people left behind will have useless, paperweight guns with no ammo and no place to shoot.

But, don't you know, they didn't "ban" anything really; they just imposed "common sense" requirements for "safety" - requirements that were deliberately designed to be impossible to meet.

So if the ammo manufacturers can't ship ammo, what will law enforcement use? Rubber bullets, stun guns, manipulation. Stupidity again from people out of touch with reality.

???? Mr Ducks - what are you talking about ??

This post is about a de facto ammunition BAN

If this bill is passed in CT, no ammunition can be sold after Jan 1, 2010 that isn't microstamp coded. And citizens will be forced to dispose of ammunition that isn't microstamped by Jan 1, 2012.

Ammo makers won't be able to ship any ammo to CT; dealers won't be able to sell it and citizens won't be allowed to POSSESS non microstamp compliant ammo by 2012.

Essentially, a complete, total 100% "ban" on ammunition, and hence meaningful gun possession
