Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members
are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national
attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the
below, just where will all of it stop?
35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for
imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to
    convene a Constitutional Convention.
This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass
    it on.

This is an idea that we should address.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.
Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the
same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves
from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear
of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live
under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare
Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not
have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are
Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three
days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.
This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall
make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not
apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall
make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does
not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

there is no such law that exempts congressional staffers or congressional family members from paying back student loans. There is a Federal Student Loan Repayment program that a variety of agencies use as a hiring incentive. I support this. I sure do not want Joe Blow Average with mediocre grades and basic skills working for the CIA or working for the Pentagon.

    another dumb email chain letter....

    Let me call BS

There are some limited repayment programs for federal serivce. Heck there are some limited repayment programs for military service.

Research this yourself- passing on stuff that is BS just ads up to more BS and makes gunowners look bad

    Regards from Iowa

I hope we never have a constitutional convention. You can bet the Second Amendment would be history. And the rest of it would wind up becoming the Communist Manifesto. I know of no quicker way to hammer a stake into the heart of America.

I agree with Brian. If we ever had a Constitutional Convention NOW with our entitlement mentality, we would see more than the end of the 2nd Amendment. Heathcare would be a "right" as would guaranteed homeownership, a free college education, permanent employment (can't be fired or laid off)and everything else the unions and leftists want. The only right we preesntly have that would be abolished is FREEDOM!

    Speaking of congressmen...

It's always informative to hear what our political leaders REALLY think. I DON'T mean the posturing typical of speeches. I'm NOT referring to carefully crafted campaign rhetoric. I'm talking about unvarnished and straight to the point candor. We don't often get that. Here's an example where we did. Mash the link above for more details.

    Dateline January 28, 2010....

Virginia Democratic Rep. Jim Moran is blaming his party's losses last November in large part on voters who "don't want to be governed by an African-American particularly one who is inclusive, who is liberal, who wants to spend money on everyone and who wants to reach out to include everyone in our society. And that's a basic philosophical clash".

Oh really?? Maybe Moran didn't notice but Obummer wasn't up for re-election last November. Obama ran in 2008 and WAS elected.

Prior to the 2008 election, Obama's genetics weren't exactly a secret. It was mentioned in the news from time to time. Indeed one fawning fan or another in the "objective" media was mentioning it ALL the d@mn time. Voters noticed. Apparently, Rep. Moran doesn't understand that if a majority of American voters didn't, "want to be governed by an African-American", Obummer wouldn't be in office today.

So what was different between Nov. 2008 and the midterm elections of 2010?

Well... a bunch of the naive voters that fell for the 'hopey changey' crap in 2008 now understand that when Obummer and the lib dems, spend money on everyone, 'everyone' means deadbeats, slackers, and the lib dems' political friends. Voters now know that "inclusive" means blanket amnesty for illegals. Voters understand "reaching out to include everyone in our society" is code for pandering to socialist rotters. Last but arguably most important, those naive 2008 voters have learned Obummer and his lib dem crew will shamelessly steal from future generations as long as they hold a majority.

In other words, at least some of those naive voters have figured out the true nature of Obummer and the lib dems and don't want any part of it.

Moran was right about one thing. What most Americans expect of it's government vs. the core values of Obummer, his lib dem toadys, and their media butt boys is "a basic philosophical clash".
